A PQRA RMA Manager is responsible for directing a team that receives, prioritizes, analyzes, tracks and reports-on devices that are returned to Micron by customers for failure analysis.

A PQRA RMA Manager directs electrical failure analysis of returned devices. This analysis may include system-level testing and verification, module-level ATE testing and debug (including defect component isolation), system-level component isolation, component ATE testing and characterization, bench-level component electrical failure analysis, and physical device level root cause analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, the PQRA RMA team will work with the various manufacturing groups internal or external to Micron, to identify the root cause of the defects. The team is also responsible for tracking all steps of the analysis process.

Once the analysis and data collection is complete, the PQRA RMA teams generate a report for each customer return. This report details the analysis that was performed, the results of that analysis, and any applicable corrective actions or process improvements. The PQRA RMA team often serves as the primary contact for any questions or continuing analysis requests related to the report that might come back from the customer.

A PQRA RMA Manager should have a solid understanding of semiconductor manufacturing as well as a wide-range of applications in order to logically assess the customer-related issues at hand and support the Micron field organizations in delivering the information necessary to meet customer expectations. A PQRA RMA Manager should be familiar with industry-standard practices and terminology, and should understand Micron manufacturing methods, conventions, and systems.

Depending on the issues being analyzed, the PQRA RMA Manager and his team may be required to serve as liaisons between many other departments and sites within Micron, including Suppliers, Manufacturing, Engineering, and the Business Units. They must understand when to bring in resident experts on any given issues. This job can also require data analysis from numerous sources (including the customers) and formats.

The PQRA RMA Manager must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple customers and deal with multiple issues at one time, while providing detailed and timely follow-up between all applicable internal organizations in Micron.

In order to meet the above responsibilities the PQRA RMA Manager is expected to possess the following skills and abilities.

Ability to lead a team of engineers, technician and coordinators to meet the customers’ RMA expectations

A strong background in DRAM operation or failure analysis experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Good individual work habits

Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Proficiency with Microsoft applications

Ability to stay self-motivated and motivate the team

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong attention to detail

Ability to handle occasional high stress situations in a professional manner

Willing to work occasional abnormal hours to provide support for overseas customers or technical teams at other Micron sites

Basic understanding of computer and other electronic hardware architectures
