Description of Position:
To manage and control merchandise flow in terms of all transportation mode and activities (FCL, LCL, air, ocean, foreign, domestic, and etc). Communicating with carriers, truckers, forwarders, brokers, depot, warehouses, vendors and Buyers.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Manage shipment booking status, on top of all issues and resolve timely.
• Arrange container schedule based on shipment availability and locations demand on a daily-basis. Coordinate with the Depot to facilitate the process.
• Handle Customs and tariff affairs to ensure legal compliant.
• Assists with freight damage/discrepancy investigations and follows-up.
• Assists with handling traffic-related inquiries from Buyers and vendors.
• Review vendor performance.
• Generate statistics and/or reports for upper management.
• Manage working progress and issues handled by Traffic Assistants.
• Maintains up-to-date understanding of shipping industry conditions.
• Assist with other departments with issues that Traffic is able make proper suggestions.
