CUSTOMER QUALITY ENGINEER - SMTS
THE ROLE:
Join AMD’s team of highly skilled professionals in managing the quality performance of key customers in the production of our Server CPU products. Our presence in region gives this customer quality engineering team exposure to multiple AMD sales, platform, product development, and manufacturing operation teams. This team partners with AMD Platform and Customer Engineering Teams to enable AMD product introduction & volume ramp to the satisfaction of our customers. As a member of our Manufacturing Quality Engineering team, you will be a critical part of driving innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies – building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center. The successful candidate will drive results across AMD in support of improving product quality and enhancing the customer experience.
THE PERSON:
You are a pro at successfully managing customer expectations and mitigating and resolving customer concerns on quality related issues. Communication skills include listening to and truly understanding your customers' needs, and effectively communicating with AMD internally to drive results and to achieve customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Play a critical role as the key contact for product quality and post-sales support for AMD customers, accurately represent customer’s requirement within AMD.
• Interact with AMD's key customer's procurement, quality, and manufacturing contacts to understand customer requirements and resolve quality and reliability issues related to the product qualification, ramp, and high-volume manufacturing
• Program manage multi-functional technical teams to identify containment and determine root cause for customer issues. Multi-functional teams may consist of Design, Software, Platform, Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Failure Analysis, Customer Engineering, Sales Ops and Supplier Quality Engineering.
• Manage the overall customer quality relationship, work closely with customer to fully understand their business from a quality perspective.
• Raise potential issues to AMD's management to avoid customer disruption and ensure timely resolution.
• Provide AMD's cross functional team with customer priorities to ensure resources are aligned to support critical activities.
• Write and deliver customer facing presentations to communicate frequent technical status and deliver technical solution.
• Ensures that customers’needs are met and that the product or solution is fully functioning according to specification.
• Provide post sales technical expertise during the installation, implementation and maintenance of company products. May be involved in implementing detailed customer installation requirements.
• Improve customer engineering service efficiency via metrics optimization and monitoring.
