Lam Research總公司於1980年成立於美國加州矽谷、1984年股票於美國NASDAQ上市、電漿蝕刻設備為全球銷售之冠、四十多家子公司遍及台灣、中國大陸、日本、歐洲等世界各地
Lam Research Taiwan(科林研發)為Lam Research之亞太營運中心，主要業務項目為半導體蝕刻機台及化學機械研磨機台之銷售、維修及服務
台灣子公司於1994年成立、1995年與經濟部簽訂成為第一家加入亞太營運中心策略聯盟之半導體設備商、1996年進駐新竹科學園區、建立全世界第三座技術研發中心及訓練中心、1999年成立南科辦事處 、截至目前為止，已陸續成立林口、台中、后里等五個辦事處
