IT Business Analyst, meets with user departments (Customers), Technical Engineers (Software, Network, Systems, etc.), and Quality Assurance team members to discover the root problem or opportunity that may exist and establish as a collaborative team a solution that will best meet the need based on resources, timeline, and future needs. The Business analyst then works to ensure this is implemented and delivers on the expected results of all stakeholders, and then continues improving/enhancing the solution as part of Continuous Process Improvement. Throughout the evolution of projects the Business Analyst will facilitate ad-hoc meetings to clarify requirements, process change requests and facilitate other communications necessary to ensure a high quality of delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Gather requirements for approved Projects from user departments by working with Subject Matter Experts, Business Sponsors, and Executive Sponsors
• Document and Propose potential and appropriate business solutions to satisfy needs and requirements
• Assist in Maintaining Business Documentation for Business Rules and Processes as part of the Governance process
• Operate within guidelines and process of the Project Development and Software Development Lifecycles
• Learn and become a leading expert in various areas of the business, become a student of the business by working with them to understand their challenges, needs, and objectives.
• Support all phases of the Project and Software Development Lifecycles in the role of a Business Analyst by:
o Coordinate and attend meetings
o Lead planning meetings between various groups to establish requirements
o Getting first-hand experience in the business functions and environment
o Write and review requirements with the project team
o Review planned work with assigned Technical Lead to ensure planned solution will meet business needs
o Review Test Plan with QA engineer to ensure that when properly executed the delivered product will be high quality
o Train the business sponsor group on using the finished product
o Assist and Support the Business Unit in Testing and User Acceptance
o Create and review Change Requests for validity and implications and impact on the project and business processes
o Assist in Gathering, Triaging, and resolving Regression and Remediation work
o Assist in Transitioning the project from closing into maintenance including updating any documentation and identifying future work that should be done
