The optical engineer is responsible for research, design, development, testing, quality control for mass production, and work closely with internal teams and suppliers to solve problems. We are looking for a candidate who is self-motivated, creative, collaborative, and has the ability of critical thinking, excellent communication skills in oral and written English, sound judgment, clear sense of purpose, attention to detail and accountability, hand-on experience in optical component coating/material/fabrication. Experienced with precision fabrication technologies or VR/AR optical design is plus.
1. Imaging & non-imaging optical system design and development. [e.g. HMD, HUD, micro-projector]
2. Optical engine/component simulation for VR/AR application [ e.g. light engine, freeform lens, holographic optical element, diffraction optical element, polarization optical element]
3. Define optical component specification, quality control specification and SOP.
4. Solve optical component issues with different function teams and suppliers.
5. Study novel VR/AR design and develop prototypes for concept verification.
6. Work closely with mechanical team and vendors in developing new optical component and test equipment.
