Job Purpose This role is responsible for driving profitable sales growth by developing and executing strategic business plans while ensuring distributor inventory is maintained at healthy levels. Externally, this position will lead and partner with distributors while engaging key retailers to drive excellence in sales execution. Internally, this role will collaborate closely with Trade Marketing, Marketing, and Demand Planning teams. This partnership will focus on strategic investment, resource allocation, and demand forecasting to successfully develop and execute mutually beneficial Joint Business Plans (JBPs) that deliver sustainable growth. Key Accountabilities or Responsibilities 1. Strategy & Budget Plan • Develop distributor and Key Account strategies, securing alignment from the internal management team in line with overall company direction. • Drive the performance of identified core categories within retail channels. Leverage category data and insights to develop actionable strategies and measurable KPIs for effective implementation. 2. Distributor Management & Process Management • Oversee all aspects of distributor management, including: retailer program sell-in, business reviews, cycle management, information management, and the end-to-end order-to-cash process (order, shipping, billing). • Conduct regular distributor scorecard reviews and performance management. • Manage processes for returns and residual stock, executing clear action plans. • Ensure disciplined store visits to drive 'In-store Merchandising' execution and compliance. 3. Retailer Engagement and Management • Lead joint customer sales presentations and negotiations, ensuring active distributor participation. • Establish and manage a routine review cadence (e.g., annual, semi-annual) with key retailers, involving internal multi-functional teams. • Utilize conceptual selling skills to create compelling sell-in plans. Effectively manage conflicts and handle disagreements to achieve positive outcomes, while proactively understanding retailer needs and industry dynamics. • Manage the product portfolio to optimize shelf life and oversee product transitions, strengthening the core range and minimizing returns from inefficient SKUs. 4. Sales & Trade Spend Planning & Management • Develop monthly sales and trade spend plans aligned with annual targets. • Maintain an accurate rolling forecast for both sales and trade spend. • Analyze performance against forecast and continuously optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of all trade investments. • Proactively develop and implement gap-closing plans as needed. • Coordinate internal resources to create compelling value propositions for distributors and retailers. 5. Follow company policies & procedures as well as all compliance requirements. 6. Achieve KPIs including: Sales Targets (NSV, Sellout), Profitability & Investment (MAC, TE & TLI Efficiency), In-Store Excellence (Customer fundamentals, Perfect Store Scores), and Operational Accuracy (Forecast Accuracy, Forecast Bias). Context and Scope This is a primarily distributor-facing role responsible for empowering our partners to drive strategic initiatives for key customers.
