Education and experience: • Requires a Ph. D or minimum of a master’s degree plus 3 years of industrial experience in Optical Engineering, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or relevant engineering discipline. • Experience in thin film deposition techniques, especially in physical vapor deposition (PVD). • Strong understanding of optical properties and related testing method. • Familiarity with using coating design software such as TFCalc or FilmStar. Skills: • Ability to work either independently or as part of a development team. • Self-motivation and ability to work in a fast-moving high-tech environment. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Duties and Responsibilities: • Design and develop optical coatings such as anti-reflective, high-reflective, and filter coatings for use in various optical devices. • Utilize software tools for designing and modeling optical coatings to meet target specifications. • Perform characterization and testing of coatings, including measurements of reflectance, transmittance, and durability. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate coatings into optical systems and ensure compatibility with other components. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to coating performance, quality, and manufacturing processes. • Document processes and results in detailed technical reports and provide recommendations for improvements.

Education and experience • Requires a minimum of a master’s degree in Optics, Physics, or relevant engineering discipline, plus 3 years of industrial experience. • Ph.D degree is a plus. • Expert in optical design, tolerancing, and analysis software (e.g. Zemax, FRED, Code V). • Familiarity with Fourier optics, and image formation is an advantage. • Familiarity with mechanical 3D solid modeling design software is an advantage. • Hands-on experience with optical system alignment. • Experience with product development is a plus. Duties and Responsibilities: • Performs detailed optical design, optical component layout, and ray tracing for new or improved optical subsystems. • Generates optical module or system concepts to meet product requirements. • Performs wavefront analysis of optical subsystems and components. • Performs optical tolerance analysis at system and subsystem levels. • Works with Optical Design Engineers and Mechanical Engineers/CAD Designers for prototype and pilot detailed design. • Designs verification testing. • Develops test plans, create test procedures, perform tests and data reduction, and evaluate test data. Modifies designs based on test results. • Performs other duties as assigned.
