Challenge: Embodying IDC Theory Interest-Driven Creator (IDC) Theory is being developed as a group endeavor by Asian researchers to articulate a holistic learning design theory for future education in Asia. The theory hypothesizes that students, driven by interest, can be engaged in the creation of knowledge (generating ideas and artifacts). By repeating this creation process in their daily learning routines, they will excel in learning performance, develop twenty-firstcentury competencies, and form creation habits. We hope that with such practices in education, our future generations will ultimately become lifelong interest-driven creators. (see https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s40692-018-0122-0 or http://chan.lst.ncu.edu.tw/publications/2018_IDC%20paper.pdf) For English language learning, our experimental school aims at providing students a pleasant environment in which they can enjoy learning and have plenty of time to read, to expand, and to explore everything they are curious about from the books. Through daily reading and book-related activities, they will build up solid habit of English book reading as well as noble characters. Your task is to create a supportive learning environment that will help IDC students meet their learning goals. Through various methods, you will teach them the important rules of reading, speaking and writing in English. You will oversee their progress by tracking their assignment and reading in order to provide useful feedback. Responsibilities • Organize classroom lessons and coursework • Prepare materials and activities • Assign homework and interesting exercises • Recommend books to students • Identify students with special requirements and create individualized reading plans • Provide feedback based on workload and classroom behavior • Manage classroom crises and resolve conflict • Inform parents about their children’s performance • Collaborate with teaching staff and administrators to foster a good student experience If you are interested in this position, please email your resume to [email protected]
