Shipping Specialist will help Logistics team to trouble shoot any shipping related issues. They communicate with vendors and carriers and work directly with Sourcing team, VM team and Logistics team to meet HFT goals and objectives. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and detail oriented with a couple of years of supply chain and Logistics experience. The ability to learn and take initiative is a must, along with good interpersonal skills in order to communicate with colleagues, vendors, and carriers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Collect and analyze weekly/monthly FCL volume statistics by each origin and complete logistics reports for management visibility • Support space planning with VM and Sourcing teams, based on vendor forecast and packet file priorities • Coordinate and complete weekly parts order confirmation and not-booked list, ensuring accuracy and timely visibility • Coordinate with carriers / logistics partners and vendors to secure booking space and ensure on-time shipments • Follow up on vendor bookings, shipping documents, and container demand to improve planning visibility • Communicate with SHA/US Logistics team and provide updates to align priorities • Follow up and update carrier contract information • Provide guidance to vendors on the booking process and follow up on booking status • Ensure vendors understand and follow document submission guidelines • Communicate with US CSR/Trade Compliance teams; prepare for and support monthly TB meetings • Follow up on social compliance / C-TPAT audits and assist vendors with corrective actions • Troubleshoot booking, delivery, and shipping issues cross-functionally to ensure smooth execution • Arrange sea/air shipments of samples or machines purchased for US and SHA labs • Collect booking/shipment data and share with SC team weekly • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (VM, Sourcing, SC, QA) to align on shipments and resolve issues • Logistics team/CSR team trip arrangements as needed • Support manager in ad-hoc assignments related to logistics operations and cross-functional projects

Supplier Coordinator works directly with HFT vendors and sub-suppliers to track PO confirmation, PO delay tracking, capacity check, production progress to ensure product quality, on-time delivery and proactively find solutions to any delay issue caused by vendors. The position requires frequent domestic vendors visits and in-depth understanding of the product manufacturing process, ability to identify various bottlenecks and risks that may occur during production and provides various improvements solutions. Supplier coordinator must have open communication with multiple teams to ensure relevant teams have consistent and correct information, especially working closer with vendor management and QC team. The supplier coordinator must have a proactive approach to mitigate future shipping delays and risk, communicating all potential risks and opportunities to the Vendor Management team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Travel to various factories including domestic and oversea and submit corresponding reports to cross functional teams • Analyze vendors' production process and improve bottleneck • Follow up with vendors on their continuous improvement plans • Train vendors to provide timely and accurate report of order modification • Validate order modifications and update order packet accordingly with reason codes and report to involved teams with any key issue • Analyze vendors delayed/unconfirmed POs and work with vendors / vendor managers to find solutions and follow up the action plans • Validate/analyze vendors stated Lead Time/capacity to identify and mitigate any potential risks/issues with production • Monitor and analyze vendors’ PO performance, capacity, and on-time delivery on a regular basis, generating reports accordingly • Work with Quality Control team to coordinate any quality issues and follow up actions • Collect vendor’s market information and share with team • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

The Sourcing Specialist will be based in Taichung, but spend much of the time sourcing factories in Taiwan, finding products, and meeting with vendors. He/she should have an understanding of quality as it relates to evaluating vendor viability, production capacity, and the products themselves to meet team requirements. The Sourcing Specialist helps the Sourcing Manager with a variety of responsibilities surrounding new potential vendors and new potential products in assigned Harbor Freight Tools’ categories. He/she spends the time operating our product development tracking system, Workfront, requesting quotations, requesting and tracking samples for QA testing, tracking development projects and communicating test with vendors and Quality Assurance department. The Sourcing Specialist also helps to coordinate packaging and artwork through completion with the given timeline. He/she works collaboratively with the Quality Assurance team, Vendor Management team as well as the US Sourcing team to hit targets and deadlines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Tracking projects, communicating sample request, and pushing the ready date for samples • Identifying new product opportunities to enhance HFT's product mix • Collecting market info and share with teams timely • Relationship buildup and maintain with vendor and sub-supplier • Monitoring production schedule (mass production readiness and finish) • Managing RFQs, negotiating prices, lead time and production capacity for Harbor Freight Tools • Document notes from touchbase meeting with US Sourcing team • US colleague’s Asia trip support, trip itinerary, meeting agenda and notes • Sourcing new/potential vendors, visiting new vendor for new product inquiry from US team • Spend 40% time on traveling and visiting vendors • New factory visiting-at least two new vendors visiting per month • Cross function with Vendor Management team (check on and validate order and ship week), and Supplier Quality Engineer team (test method review, corrective action issues, first article test validation) • Alt-country - team work to encourage current vendors to have alt-country production plan & investigation annually. • Completion of tasks assigned by the supervisors • Extremely organized and detail orientated • Ability to generate and analyze reports and data
