Job Description Summary:
Responsible for the bidding process regarding large, complex issues including IT&OT services, solutions, design and manufacturing services. Project manages the bidding process from initial contact through contract signing, with particular emphasis on costing/Pricing control, terms verification. Responsible for preparing, validating and endorsing the technical solution.
Job Description:
The Proposal Specialist resource is responsible to plan & develop a technical /commercial proposal to meet the needs of the customer. The Proposal Specialist resource will develop commercial offers within the framework of the company’s business and financial goals and be compliant with our internal policies. The resource acts as the subject matter expert for the customer, sales organization, and Business Unit. The resource typically has a specialized understanding of related products and comprehensive delivery offerings from RA, partners, and competitors in designated focus areas.
The Proposal Specialist is a technical resource for Rockwell Automation technology, products, services, and solutions within their area(s) of expertise, capable of articulating value, estimations, and positioning of benefits of portfolio to customers. They deliver and manage commercial offers; pre-sales support and are trusted advisors to the sales organization and channel. They are responsible for all bid offer activities for a specific range of products, services & solutions within a defined geography.
Key Responsibility:
1. Lead standardization efforts of proposals, tools and processes for designated products, service or solution which develop by project management methodology. Manage stakeholders associated with winning opportunities.
2. Work & Influence sales team in the process of filtering IO/OT projects and services opportunities, to achieve win rate target.
3. Make LCS sales quotation / proposal and ensure delivering sale proposal for LCS business on time.
4. Demonstrate the ability to expand the scope of solutions requested by incorporating the full portfolio of Rockwell Automation offerings, including but not limited to: Connected Services, Process/Power & Control/Information Solutions, Packaged Power, and local Field Labor.
5. Management of the process to implement proposal development activities which include but is not limited to bid assessment, risk estimation, proposal generation, costing estimation, proposal approval, order entry, front log report and internal transfer – Collaborate with Sales, Solution Consultants, Sales Specialists, Engineering, Services, and your peer proposal teams regional/global.
6. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the customer/marketing organization, products, and services, research & evaluate both technical & commercial proposals to ensure competitive advantage.
7. Makes full use of Global estimating tools and Global Engineering Center Proposal resources.
8. Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, work closely with the Sale team to ensure customer satisfaction.
9.Preparing the solution presentations and responses to customer’s inquiries.
Minimum Qualification:
1.Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technical related field or equivalent.
2. 5+ years’ experience as an estimator, proposal engineer or other contract, project or application engineering focused position, related experience in a project-oriented environment.
3.High level of expertise and knowledge in PLC, DCS, Standard Drive, Networks, Industry knowledge, Application Knowledge.
4.Tact, excellent interpersonal skills, and self-motivation are essential characteristics.
5.Good English writing and speaking skills.
6.Vertical experience in Chemical & Semi industry is preferred.
