Supply Chain Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY
The Supply Chain Analyst position is a key role in the SBU S&OP team responsible for performing supply planning activities to ensure product supply is equal to demand, and that plans developed optimize business performance to meet Operating Plan objectives.

Nature and Scope
The work will be primarily accomplished through active participation in the S&OP process. The SCA will work closely with the SBU Demand Analysts to understand demand requirements, work closely with Operations and Purchasing to balance supply and demand and support reconciliation of supply to Op plan with Finance team. The SC Analyst will also provide direction and work closely with the SC execution teams in the plants to ensure adherence to approved plan, and to get feedback on the reality of actual orders vs forecast.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Effective utilization of S&OP process to insure supply equals demand over the 18 month horizon. Work with Supply team to resolve potential bottlenecks which may erode financial performance. Utilize Quattro BI, APO SNP and S4 reports for planning resources.
Utilize Prospect data and changes in demand in Quattro BI on daily/weekly basis to analyze ability to meet requirements. Run what if scenarios based on prospects in pipeline to insure capacity available for future demand.
Responsible for monthly evaluation of shipping frequency on each lane, identifying opportunities for optimization and prioritization for primary shipping lanes for products. This includes both the finished goods outbound as well as the empty return frequency. Analyst to work closely with Transportation team for this analysis.
Develop replenishment strategy (MTO, MTS, RTF, Etc) for materials assigned as per strategic vision for platform and use of competitive lead-times.
Using Inventory Sizing Tools, analyze and update Inventory settings in SAP for finished goods, ready to fill containers, and bulk intermediates. Work with Material Planner team to optimize raw material settings as well.
Perform Lead Time Analysis on all parts on regular basis to compare actual vs stated lead-times for opportunities to decrease times as per lead-time reduction policy.
Identify fleet requirements or excess fleet developing a plan to resolve the imbalance. This is accomplished by utilization of fleet planning tool and accurate maintenance of cycle time data to match current network and accurate customer hold times. If fleet is required, the Supply Chain Analyst will identify conversions needed reducing asset purchases and develop plans for excess fleet. The SCA is also accountable to analyze and communicate the shipping frequency for return containers coming back to source plants.
Perform planning for cages and chassis where applicable for product lines.
Understand expedite costs and root cause to reduce and/or eliminate future expedites. Recommend changes to minimize expenses.
Identify opportunities to minimize complexity (Active Material numbers and extensions) and coordinate changes with business area to reduce.
Communicate regularly with Demand Analysts to get improvements for forecast combinations that most impact fulfillment execution and costs
Thru SOP process, identify the need for allocation and if approved by SBU SOP team, lead the effort to change the strategy as well as communicate to the teams impacted. Guide material planners thru execution. Recommend when allocation should be removed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
The candidate should hold an undergraduate degree in science, engineering, business management or logistics.
Proficiency in advanced planning systems, statistical forecasting tools, SAP, APO, MRP and Microsoft Excel is required. The candidate must be able to deal with large amounts of complex data and be focused on financial impact.
A minimum 5 years of experience in a planning role is required before assuming this Supply Chain Analyst role.
Certification in APICS CSCP or APICS CPIM is preferred.
