Senior DevSecOps and Embedded Build Engineer, up to Staff [Taipei or Hsinchu]

We are looking for a Senior DevSecOps and Embedded Build Engineer to join our embedded systems software team. This role goes beyond basic CI maintenance, it's about driving automation, security integration, and process robustness in firmware development pipelines. As part of a fast-paced team delivering embedded firmware for next-generation connected devices, you will take ownership of our CI/CD and test infrastructure, implement secure build and release workflows, and guide junior engineers in best practices. This position requires strong technical depth in embedded build systems, security compliance, and test orchestration on real hardware. [Responsibilities] ★ Architect and maintain scalable firmware build and release pipelines targeting embedded platforms. ★ Lead the integration of DevSecOps practices, including: ◆ Static code analysis (SAST) ◆ Dynamic application security testing (DAST) ◆ SBOM generation and license compliance scanning ◆ CVE scanning and third-party risk management ◆ Secure artifact signing and delivery validation ◆ Design and implement automated test execution on embedded hardware (sanity, regression, secure boot validation, etc.). ◆ Guide and mentor junior build engineers to improve reliability and quality across pipelines. ◆ Work closely with security, IT, and firmware teams to ensure alignment with company's Secure Software Development Lifecycle (Secure SDL). ◆ Maintain assets for embedded test labs, including DUT automation, serial log capture, and board provisioning. ◆ Monitor CI health, identify process bottlenecks, and continuously improve stability and test coverage. [Minimum Qualifications] ★ Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD in a related field. ★ Proven experience with embedded build systems (Yocto, Buildroot, CMake, cross-compilation toolchains). ★ Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for CI automation and test harness development. ★ Solid understanding of secure software delivery workflows, SBOM, SAST, and CVE tracking. ★ Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms (GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.) in embedded or firmware domains. ★ Strong knowledge of embedded Linux, bootloaders (e.g., U-Boot), and board bring-up/debugging workflows. [Preferred Qualifications] ★ Experience working with security compliance tools (e.g., SPDX, Trivy, Black Duck, OSS Review Toolkit). ★ Familiarity with image signing, secure boot chain validation, and hardware root of trust. ★ Background in firmware QA automation or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test frameworks. ★ Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical direction across cross-functional teams. ★ Experience managing or scaling embedded validation labs is a plus. ★ Experience on Qualcomm Linux is a strong plus. ★ Comfortable working in a globally distributed, cross-disciplinary engineering team.
