The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams (aerodynamics, battery, and control systems) to enhance drone performance, efficiency, and reliability. --- ### **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Motor Design & Development:** - Design brushless DC (BLDC) motors, PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors), or other electric motors for drone propulsion. - Optimize motor parameters (torque, RPM, power-to-weight ratio, efficiency). - Conduct electromagnetic, thermal, and structural simulations (using tools like ANSYS, COMSOL, or Motor-CAD). 2. **Testing & Validation:** - Prototype motor testing (thrust, efficiency, thermal management, durability). - Collaborate with testing teams to validate motor performance under different flight conditions. - Troubleshoot motor-related issues (overheating, vibrations, EMI). 3. **Integration with Drone Systems:** - Work with ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) teams for seamless motor-ESC compatibility. - Optimize motor-propeller matching for maximum thrust and flight efficiency. - Ensure compliance with industry standards (FAA, CE, ISO). 4. **Material & Manufacturing Optimization:** - Select high-performance materials (magnets, windings, bearings). - Collaborate with suppliers/manufacturers for cost-effective production. 5. **Research & Innovation:** - Stay updated on emerging motor technologies (e.g., axial flux motors, hybrid systems). - Develop lightweight, high-power-density motors for next-gen drones.

### **Qualifications & Skills:** - **Education:** Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering. - **Experience:** - 3+ years in motor design (BLDC/PMSM preferred). - Experience in drones, UAVs, or robotics is a **big plus**. - Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools. - **Technical Skills:** - Knowledge of motor control algorithms (FOC, PWM). - Understanding of battery-motor interactions. - Familiarity with drone propulsion dynamics. - **Soft Skills:** Problem-solving, teamwork, and strong analytical skills.
