NQ- Global SCM Senior Specialist / Lead

Role Summary: The SCM Specialist / Lead on the Tech Transfer team is responsible for managing all supply chain activities critical to the successful replication of new products and processes at the overseas factory. This includes ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing, procurement, and logistics of materials, components, and equipment required for pilot runs, validation, and initial mass production, while adhering to global supply chain and quality standards. Key Responsibilities (TT Focus): 1. Material Readiness & Sourcing Strategy: -Collaborate with R&D, Engineering (sending site), and local Process Engineering to identify and understand all critical raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies required for the new product/process. - Work with Global SCM and local procurement to develop a robust sourcing strategy for new materials, prioritizing local supplier development where feasible, or ensuring effective transfer from existing suppliers. - Conduct initial risk assessments for new or critical suppliers to the overseas factory, in conjunction with Global Supplier Quality. 2. Procurement & Inventory Management: - Develop and manage the procurement plan for pilot runs, validation batches, and initial ramp-up, ensuring materials are available on time and within budget. - Coordinate with suppliers for sample deliveries, technical specifications, and quality documentation. - Establish initial inventory control parameters (e.g., minimum order quantities, lead times) for new materials to support TT activities. - Manage the receiving, warehousing, and internal distribution of materials for TT batches, minimizing waste and ensuring proper handling. 3. Logistics & Customs Management: - Plan and coordinate the inbound logistics for all materials, components, and specialized equipment required for the TT project, considering lead times, shipping methods, and costs. - Work with customs brokers and internal teams to ensure smooth customs clearance for imported goods, proactively addressing any regulatory hurdles. - Oversee the safe and timely delivery of materials to the production lines for trial runs. 4. Supplier Management & Performance Monitoring (TT Phase): - Act as the primary supply chain liaison for selected new suppliers to the overseas factory during the TT phase. - Monitor supplier performance on delivery, quality (in coordination with QA), and cost during the initial production runs. - Facilitate communication and problem-solving with suppliers regarding any material-related issues that impact TT progress. 5. Cost Optimization & Risk Mitigation: - Identify opportunities to optimize supply chain costs during the TT phase without compromising quality or TTM. - Proactively identify potential supply chain risks (e.g., single-source dependency, long lead times, geopolitical factors) and propose mitigation strategies. - Support contingency planning for critical material shortages. 6. Cross-functional Collaboration: - Work closely with the Tech Transfer Program Manager to ensure supply chain activities are integrated into the overall TT project plan. - Collaborate with QA for supplier quality audits and material qualifications. - Partner with Operations and Process Engineering to ensure material flow supports production efficiency. - Communicate supply chain status, risks, and issues clearly and regularly to the TT team and relevant stakeholders. 7.Documentation & System Setup: - Ensure all supply chain related documentation (e.g., supplier agreements, material specifications, import/export records) is accurate and complete. - Support the setup and configuration of relevant SCM modules within the ERP/MRP system for new products/materials.
