Part-time Foreign Teacher (MUN)

Tainan Future Learn (TFL) Experimental Institution, partners with Cambridge Assessment International Education, OxfordAQA and British Council Partner Schools to deliver high-standard bilingual and English-medium secondary education to students in southern Taiwan. Our curriculum focuses on science, business, math and English, and is supported by extensive reading and soft skills education. Our aim is to provide a solid pathway through the International GCSE and A level exams leading to English medium tertiary study at universities all over the world. As an expanding institution, we are seeking qualified and experienced teachers of Model United Nations (MUN) Instructors / Teaching Assistants: • Serve as a course instructor, leading students through practical MUN training, including country role-play, writing position papers, and drafting resolutions. • Train students in public speaking, debate, and negotiation, enabling them to express their viewpoints clearly and persuasively in English. • Organize mock conference sessions: opening speeches, motions, formal debate, caucuses, and voting procedures. • Act as Chair or evaluator, ensuring students follow the Rules of Procedure while providing timely and constructive feedback. • Support teamwork by guiding students in collaboration, negotiation, and reaching consensus under pressure. • Plan and oversee a final simulation conference, giving students the experience of a full-scale MUN meeting. • Student Characteristics: o Higher English proficiency with some prior debate or presentation experience. o Equipped with basic international knowledge and able to practice formal debating and academic writing in English with teacher guidance. Compensation: o Hourly rate: NT$800+ (based on experience and teaching ability) o Weekly hours: 2.5 hours o Class time: Every Thursday from 13:00 to 15:40 (10-minute break included) Qualifications: o Bachelor's degree or higher (majors in International Relations, Political Science, or International Studies preferred) o Prior MUN experience or relevant teaching/facilitation experience preferred o Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing), with the ability to guide students in drafting position papers and participating in debates • Students' level: Middle and High School (G7-G12) • Class Size: Approximately 30 students • Location: No. 52, Dongxing Rd., East Dist., Tainan City 701, Taiwan • Requirements: Foreigners must hold a valid ARC via marriage, APRC, or Gold Card, and possess a valid passport with at least 6 months' validity.
