WorldVeg seeks to employ an Associate Scientist - Food Chemistry, to strengthen the research capacity of the Center's chemical analysis laboratory. The incumbent will be based at Center’s headquarters in Shanhua, Tainan, Taiwan and will contribute to the Flagship Program – Healthy Diets. This position is open for Taiwanese nationals only. Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate and facilitate chemical analyses in the Center's facilities as well as in laboratories of research partners or service providers. - Develop and optimize methods for the extraction, identification, and quantification of chemical constituents associated with the nutritional value, quality and safety of vegetables and vegetable-based dishes and products. - Collect, compile, analyze and archive data and prepare internal and official reports, including writing reports, attending review meetings. - Contribute to the writing of publications, presentations, project reports and contribute to grant proposals for projects involving chemical analysis. - Remain updated on the literature and new technologies for chemical analytics of food and vegetables. - Train staff, students, partners and visiting scientists in chemical analysis methods, laboratory safety and good laboratory practice. - Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
