Authorized and responsible to perform all duties in accordance with BDEL Quality, Safety and Employee Policies and procedures: • Due to their proximity to key vendors, may support critical projects by supporting vendors, ensuring instructions and deliverables are clear, and articulating challenges and delays back to the design team. • Responsible for providing consultation, insight, and supporting data for constructions, materials, and factory capabilities related to a proposed design concept. • Responsible for coordinating finished product development, and manufacturing integration from design into bulk production. Day to Day Responsibilities: • Leading a large technical team through projects, to develop and deploy state of the art process controls technologies including hardware and software engineering capabilities in support of early stage, pilot and high-volume manufacturing activities for new technology transfer, process improvement, cost reduction or capacity expansion. • Actively develop and partnership with technical leaders in developing PCS strategy to support execution of corporate priorities and all Corning business operations and growth across Asia. • Advance and maintain technical competencies in PCS by actively participating and leading control system architecture, hardware and software designs for process equipment, process/product prototyping, and factory automation. • Initiate and lead control solution projects as appropriate to support competency and capability development to advance operational competitive advantage and build pipeline of engineering talents. • Act as a leader to represent MTE organization in engagements with customers (mainly internal engineering and manufacturing teams) and vendors (technical engagement, capability evaluations, etc.) across Asia. Visit work sites of direct reports and engage key customers on employee performance and contributions in meeting project objectives and expectations. Provide help as appropriate. • Champion effective deployment of documented manufacturing control systems best practices on all department projects. • Be responsible for establishing trainings and development programs/processes to enhance team’s competencies, capabilities and skills in core technologies through project assignments, trainings, coaching, seminars and conferences. Job Summary: The Should Cost Manager is responsible for developing cost models to analyze and predict the true cost of materials, components, and assemblies. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, solid manufacturing cost knowledge, and experience in cost estimation. Key Responsibilities: •Develop and implement Should Cost models analyzing material, labor, overhead, and profit margins. •Conduct cost breakdown analysis for procurement categories to ensure competitive pricing. •Provide cost insights for supplier negotiations, product cost reduction, and strategic decision-making. •Evaluate supplier quotations by benchmarking against internal models and market data. •Identify cost drivers in manufacturing processes and propose cost-saving opportunities. •Collaborate with suppliers for pricing transparency and cost structure improvement. •Utilize cost engineering tools (parametric modeling, regression analysis, market intelligence) for accurate estimation. •Support New Product Development (NPD) and Value Engineering (VE) with cost estimates during design stages. •Monitor material price trends, labor rates, and currency fluctuations for cost impact analysis. •Present cost analysis reports and actionable insights to leadership and procurement teams.
