Job Summary: Responsible for Supplier Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, Inspection, Supplier development programs and resolving quality related concerns
Essential Job Duties:
• Work with Global Sourcing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and those appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented.
• Aide Global Sourcing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier, product following a defined new product part approval process.
• Participate on definition of product specifications, technical, quality & packaging requirement with Global Sourcing, Category Management, Engineering, & Supplier.
• Approve new products as a result from strategic sourcing activities by applying APQP and PPAP standards.
• Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conformances
• Develop & implement Supplier development programs with short / long term goals.
• Perform supplier audits, shipment audits and maintain all quality records.
• Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPI’s, including Supplier OTD (Past due) & Defect returns
• Liaison between customer service team and suppliers in resolving product, quality related queries
• Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Supplier Management
• Support new supplier qualification& development and on boarding by reviewing quality system and process control which including supplier self-assessment questionnaire and preliminary evaluation
• Review and monitor the quality system and production processes of supplier for specialty gases, cylinders and related accessories
• Conduct on-site or remote supplier audit and follow up on audit findings to ensure timely closure of corrective action
• Investigate non-conformance and respond to supplier-related quality issue as well as provide technical perspectives to solve abnormalities
• Collaborate with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensure corrective actions are implemented and contribute to supplier quality improvement programs
• Providing training to suppliers and internal teams on quality standards, processes, and best practices to enhance overall quality performance.
• Conducting regular risk assessments to monitor changes in supplier performance and external factors that could impact quality.
2. Incoming Quality Assurance and Control
Define clear specifications for materials and components, detailing the required characteristics, tolerances, and performance criteria.
Create inspection plans that outline methods and frequency of inspections to be conducted on incoming materials. This may include visual inspections, dimensional checks, and functional testing.
Acceptance criteria must be defined to determine whether all incoming materials meet our quality standards. This includes establishing procedures for handling non-conforming products.
Maintain a comprehensive database of gas cylinder specifications such as material types and valve outlet types based on gas characteristics and end-use applications
3. Conduct Continuous improvement (CI)
• Continually improve a robust Supplier Quality Management System
Monitor and report on supplier KPIs
Support supplier development programs to enhance product reliability and traceability
Coordinate the quality issues with cross-functional team to conduct continuous improvement.
4. Quality system management
Maintain PG QA related documents
Attend quality meeting (Quality team bi-weekly meeting, PG Quality monthly meeting, MRM).
Execute QMS internal audit and third-party audit (ISO9001 certification) for PG
5. Support Plant QA and tasks will be assigned by the supervisor as needed
Conduct non-Conformance investigation
Maintain PG customer specific request in related system and share site folder.
Responsible for coordinating and completing customer questionnaires, surveys and quality related inquires in a timely and accurate manner.
