【Role Overview】
The Event and Business Development Manager will drive both strategic partnerships and high-impact event initiatives for The Icons. This role is responsible for planning and executing events that strengthen brand influence, while simultaneously building and maintaining business relationships that generate revenue and visibility. The position blends client engagement, partnership cultivation, and event management to support the company’s growth and reputation.
【Key Responsibilities】
● Design, plan, and execute flagship events, forums, and client activations that align with The Icons’ brand positioning and business goals.
● Oversee event operations, from budgeting, venue coordination, and vendor management to on-site execution and post-event evaluation.
● Identify and develop new business opportunities and partnerships through events, networking, and targeted outreach.
● Lead client acquisition and engagement efforts, including proposal preparation, pitching, and deal negotiation.
● Build and maintain long-term relationships with sponsors, partners, and stakeholders to ensure recurring and scalable collaboration.
● Work closely with cross-functional teams (marketing, editorial, design, operations) to ensure seamless event delivery and integrated business outcomes.
● Develop and monitor event budgets, timelines, and ROI metrics; ensure KPIs are consistently achieved.
● Represent The Icons at industry conferences, partner events, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility and trust.
● Track market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform event programming and business strategies.
【Qualifications】
● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
● Minimum 4–6 years of experience in event management and/or business development, preferably in media, communications, or related industries.
● Proven track record in planning and delivering successful large-scale events and securing sponsorships/partnerships.
● Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
● Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
● High level of creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
● Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment with occasional travel.
● Knowledge of / experience in Marcom, Sustainability, or International Business is an advantage.
