This is the entry level position on the (Associate) Scientist track. Responsible for in vivo GI, metabolic disease, inflammation, immunology, and autoimmune aspects and new assay development of a contract research animal facility and may include the daily care of research animals.
ANIMAL CARE:
• Daily care of research animals in accordance with standard operating procedure (SOP).
• Daily check and observe animal health status and response it to supervisors if anything happens unexpected.
• May include cleaning cages, bottles, racks, and other husbandry duties.
ROUNTINE WORK :
• Follow the working plan and execute GI, metabolic disease, inflammation, immunology, and autoimmune tests of contract research in in-vivo models directly in accordance with laboratory protocols and work orders.
• Apply animals and submit applications of test article formulation before conducting each test.
• Perform technical functions, which can include handing, gavage, injections, bleeds and simple to moderate complex surgical procedures.
• Conduct preventive maintenance of facility equipment and maintain records to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Understand and help draft standard operating procedures (one-page and laboratory protocols) or IACUC protocols and finalize them.
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance procedures.
NEW ASSAY DEVELOPMENT:
• Establish in vivo GI, metabolic disease, inflammation, autoimmune and immunological models for anti-inflammatory agents.
• Identify procedures from published literature, perform method optimization and troubleshooting to develop new testing procedures.
• Author technical protocols, reports, and SOPs, in English, of study methods and the analysis and interpretation in vivo inflammation study data.
• Market investigations and paper survey for in vivo inflammation service portfolio.
• Other duties may be assigned.
