xMEMS has Reinvented Sound reproduction with the world’s first monolithic Piezo-MEMS µSpeakers. xMEMS µSpeakers are small form-factor, ultra-hi-fidelity speakers used in consumer earbuds (wired and TWS), medical hearing aids and OTC hearing enhancement devices, professional in-ear-monitors for musicians, gaming headsets, VR/AR goggles and other audio wearables. This is a unique opportunity to join an innovative Systems Engineering team focused on supporting and growing xMEMS business in Asia.
In this role, you will be architecting and building audio reference designs, writing technical collateral, supporting and training field teams and assisting the world’s leading consumer electronics OEMs with the successful commercial launch of personal audio devices using xMEMS micro speakers.
This position requires familiarity with the full audio signal chain, especially audio amplifiers. This is an opportunity to join an elite system engineering team of hardware, mechanical, DSP and acoustic engineers. This position requires excellent communication skills, patience and prompt completion of time-sensitive actions items.
Responsibilities
• Transform design concepts or block diagrams into custom audio system hardware solutions
• Design, implement, debug and characterize embedded systems with end-to-end ownership of product design
• Design 3D systems housings, schematics, assembly, test, debug, and integrate designs into prototype and demonstration consumer
audio systems
• Manage relationships with 3rd party contract manufacturers to produce our demonstration systems
• Drive the resolution of technical issues by working with the cross-functional teams: Electrical, Mechanical, SW, Quality, Reliability as
well as the various CM teams
• Perform lab measurements, and factory tests as needed to validate the design and resolve any issues
• Track test progress, bugs, and fixes and produce regular progress reports
• Provide direct engineering support for xMEMS customers and field personnel
• Conducting technical training for field personnel and customers on product or application specific topics
• Guiding customers through system testing, debugging, failure analysis, and troubleshooting
• Contribute to next-generation audio product definition
Required Skills and Qualifications
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related fields
• 5+ years of experience in consumer electronics or related fields and 2+ years in audio applications or systems
• Strong experience analyzing and evaluating audio products with hardware tools such as B&K, GRAS, Audio Precision, Listen Inc.
(Soundcheck) or similar
• Experience with low-power circuit design, power management methods, audio circuit design, and analog design
• Experience with mixed-signal board-level design
• Ability to speak and write in English and Chinese fluently
• Able to commute daily to our office in Zhubei
• Experience with STM32 MCU Or Xilinx FPGA
