Job Description Summary
The Computer Services System Engineer supports Computing Infrastructure (Linux) support to Manufacturing sites. This role supports and maintains the data centers in the Singapore manufacturing sites with a scope of asset management and capacity planning, vendor management for mounting works, asset impairments and degauss works. Apart from the L3 level hardware and OS support for MFG systems, this role also supports the Private cloud environment running on Hyper Converge Infrastructure. This role will require high proficiency in the hardware platforms for server and storage and domain knowledge to be able to troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues from the L2 support team. The Computer Services L3 will be expected collaborate closely with the site customers, site application teams and other Infra L3 teams in the resolution of issues and the fulfillment of service requests due to the higher complexity and the need to constantly communicate on technical details and implementation. This role will also be responsible to perform changes in critical computing and storage infrastructure supporting Micron’s manufacturing and engineering
Responsibilities:
-Define, design and implement core computing and storage system hardware and operating system solutions .
-Data Center Management for highly-secure, highly-available, -operations-centric datacenter environments in Singapore sites with exposure to asset management and capacity planning, vendor management with mounting works, asset impairments and degauss works.
Provide L3 operational support with oncall support, including outside of office hours, and participate in Major incidents.
-Ensure SLA for incidents and service requests are met with high quality of work.
-Ensure important metrics, such as breach case target, MTTR and critical issue target is met.
Work alongside with our team of forward-thinking Engineers in our datacenter environments and interact with other technology teams, to build and maintain the Infrastructure for highly critical applications in those datacenter environments .
-Perform changes in critical computing and storage infrastructure supporting Micron’s manufacturing and engineerin.
Ensure security, availability, performance, interoperability and reliability of Micron’s core computing and storage resources with continuous improvement projects.
-Collaborate with site customers and Engineering disciplines to develop Reference Architectures and technology standards based on Infrastructure Building Block for computing and storage environment
-Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing at the site level to ensure high class Infrastructure redundancy for computing and storage
-Continually work to improve operations and evolve the computing and storage environment to meet future demands
-Lead hardware and software refresh projects with strong collaboration with other technical teams and customers at the site
-Able to drive Engineering efforts in automation and monitoring for computing systems
-Direct the development and maintenance of technical documentation and align with server and storage administration standard methodologies.
-Participate in global IT solving events, global IT Project planning process and in rotational 24/7 On call for any local or global IT emergencies.
-Provide L3 support including on weekends and holidays during on call.
-Review Level 2 case management process continually to improve operations by reducing the cases, minimizing issues and evolve the computing environment to meet future demands.
