Chocolate Chip is a venture-backed AI company based in Pasadena, CA. We are building a tech team in Taipei and are looking for the brightest CS engineers from Taiwan.
We are building the next generation of search technology, aiming to disrupt traditional search by leveraging advanced LLMs (Large Language Models) and voice generation technology. Our mission is to deliver highly personalized results to customer queries, redefining how people interact with search. The Role:
We are looking for a Founding Engineer to join Chocolate Chip and play a pivotal role in developing our innovative search platform. You’ll work on the entire tech stack, from backend services to AI models, voice technology, and cloud infrastructure. This role offers the chance to shape the technical foundation of a product that will revolutionize the search experience.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the founding team to define and implement key features of the search platform.
Develop and deploy fine-tuned LLMs for personalized query responses.
Work on integrating voice generation technologies to enhance the user experience with real-time audio feedback.
Design and implement knowledge graphs using tools like LlamaIndex to store and query data for search.
Oversee the full DevOps lifecycle, ensuring a scalable and reliable platform.
Optimize the performance of text-to-speech systems to reduce costs and improve real-time interaction.
Manage cloud infrastructure and ensure compliance with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR).
Requirements:
Experience in developing, deploying, and operating software components, with an understanding of agile and DevOps practices.
Strong Python skills; Rust experience is a plus, particularly for latency-sensitive components.
Knowledge of LLM fine-tuning, model deployment, and audio generation technologies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and take on multiple roles as the company scales.
A passion for solving challenging, unsolved problems and a desire to innovate.
Early adopter of LLM technology. How do you use it to accelerate your coding productivity today? What have you found works well, and what doesn’t?
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with knowledge graph technologies (e.g., LlamaIndex).
Minimum 5 years of work experience
Familiarity with AI/ML models for real-time applications, particularly in search or voice-related technologies.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and best practices in CI/CD pipelines.
Understanding of audio transcription, text-to-text LLMs, and voice generation systems like ElevenLabs or XTTS-v2.
