The Smart Manufacturing and AI team at Micron Technology is looking for a Big Data Platform Engineer, you will be a pivotal part of our team, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure. We are looking forward main focus will be on GCP platform administration and support, collaborating closely with multi-functional teams to maintain high service availability. You’ll work hand-in-hand with Google support and internal Micron developers to define efficient solutions for critical business projects.
Responsibilities:
• Set up and configure GCP resources, ensuring flawless scalability.
• Supervise performance and proactively address any issues.
• Implement standard methodologies to improve service reliability and minimize downtime.
• Swiftly resolve platform-related issues.
• Identify bottlenecks and take proactive measures to address potential problems.
• Work closely with Google support, internal teams, and customers to define and implement effective solutions.
• Articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Maintain a curious demeanour, staying updated with new technologies.
• Accept challenges and actively give to improvement plans.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Unix Administration: Show strength in Unix/Linux systems, shell scripting, and system-level solving.
• Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE): Apply container orchestration and management using GKE.
• SQL: Exhibit a confirmed of SQL databases, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Terraform: Leverage infrastructure as code (IaC) principles with Terraform.
• ETL (Extract, Transform, Load): Apply knowledge of data integration processes and tools.
• APIs: Comfortably work with APIs for data ingestion and integration.
• Python Programming: Apply Python for automation and scripting.
• Solid understanding of cloud computing principles: You should be well-versed in cloud architecture, services, and standard methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills: Your ability to take on and resolve sophisticated issues is needed.
• Strong English speaking and listening skills: You’ll work well with customers, so clear communication in English is vital.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Admin.
