Purpose of the Position: Manage mold operations and develop mold cost, quality, asset effectiveness, delivery, safety, morale, innovation targets to meet global customer request and to achieve mold manufacturing excellence. Day to Day Responsibilities: Champion process control and change management efforts to adapt to upstream and downstream operations changes, drive improvement to process capability and mitigate resultant process variation in own department. Provide supervision to section supervisors, team leaders, technicians and engineers, including effective management of key resources and overall talent management objectives. Communicate and report department progress to plant staff, division leadership and Manufacturing Effectiveness Council (MEC). Build and maintain close relationships with other operations departments to share and receive feedback on upstream and downstream operations (e.g., anticipated downtime) and, in turn, optimize performance of production operations. Ensure the protection of Corning's Intellectual Property (IAP). Deploy Corning's talent management programs within the department to effectively attract, develop, and maintain manufacturing talent, ensures that all salaried employees have training and development plans. Establish and define expectations for manufacturing competencies within the department. Approve all process/equipment changes and experimental plans involving the production process, including process improvement, new product trial runs, equipment/tooling redesign, raw material, batch and/or component changes. Required Skills: Be ability in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PPT skill and ERP system experience. Be proficient in plastic mold structure and metal processing drawing specifications. Understand science molding Principles and methods to achieve mold qualification quickly. Have Project Management Skill to integrate requests and information, and to schedule job effectively. Desired Skills: Possess knowledge of resin and metal application. Agile management skills. Soft Skills: Possess cost accounting and quantitative analysis capabilities. Creates effective and compelling presentations. Be good at inter-departmental and outsourcing communication.
