Accounting Manager for CooperVision Taiwan (CVTW) will play a leading role in the CVTW Finance Team and have primary day-to-day responsibilities in Financial Accounting & Reporting, Financial Control & Compliance (SOX), and Tax. This role will require strong knowledge for accounting (US & TW GAAP) and tax to ensure financial/process control (SOX control) and compliance in all financial and operating processes of the entire company. Accounting Manager will manage the accounting members as a team leader and people manager to ensure daily operations and develop internal talents so that the team can deliver more value-added services to the internal/external stakeholders. Strong business partnering with Commercial/Operations functions, Regional/Global members are required in performing this role. She/he also plays a critical role for improvement of the company-wide processes to help CVTW further focus on driving business. This role will directly report to APAC Controller, and have solid interactions with CVTW Business Controller, Region/Global Finance, Internal Control Team, and Internal Audit Team. 1. Responsible for daily accounting transactions and perform monthly close process to ensure the general ledger is well maintained and closed out in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. - Ensure all data presented comply with Taiwan GAAP and US GAAP - Perform inter-co recharge and IHCO reconciliation - Monthly inventory closing, sales, costing and reconcile with system - Ensure or Calculate sales rebate including post & reverse - Manage AR process after shipments through cash collection, including credit control. - Manage all AP related matters, including vendor master data maintenance, payments and bank clearing - Review month end closing result, such as account details and balance reconciliation etc. - Quarterly inventory slowing moving review, calculate the provision of inventory including consignment inventory. - Monthly reconciliation uploads and review in to blackline for 2nd level review 2. Internal reporting - Prepare US group reporting according to US GAPP and group requirement - Monthly Hyperion reporting preparation. - Monthly RDB reporting preparation 3. Local statutory reporting - Prepare monthly PRC statutory reports, Balance Sheet & Income Statement according to external audit requirement 4. Financial review - Review quarterly bad debt provision prepared by accountant - Review quarterly consignment inventory MOH & report the results to management team - Review Quarterly DSO & report the results to management team 5. Work with Global Tax and local external tax advisory for setting up mid/long-term local tax strategies as well as responding to regulation changes, and lead timely/accurate tax filings collaborating with external tax advisory. Lead and coordinate in managing internal/external audits mainly based on SOX, Financial, BS Review, Taxes, and Business processes in collaboration with CVTW Controller. Bear responsibilities for Balance Sheet accuracy and working capital management, including BS account reconciliations, variance analysis, and WC reductions. 6. This includes: - Validate the completeness and accuracy of transactions by ensuring that all transactions are authorized, comply with prevailing policies and supporting documents are in order. - Ensure timely and accurate posting of transactions in accordance with documented processes and accounting standards. - Maintain accurate financial records and ensure accurate posting of transactions to correct general ledger accounts. - Review staffs’ claims and ensure it is following company’ handbook and T & E Policies. Ensuring completeness of employee’s claims. - Liaise with internal/external vendors on all queries relating to payments. - Keep documents such as purchase DO, invoice, payment advice (hardcopy or softcopy) etc. - Perform payments to vendors, statutory bodies and employees. - Assist in journal entries for accruals, prepayments and maintain supporting schedules. - Assist and perform account payables and bank reconciliation (if necessary). - Perform Accrual: AP accruals/GRNI (AP and PO) close every month end. - Monitor and control staff’s contact lens reimbursement. - Involve in Corporate reporting: DPO 2. Internal & local statutory reporting - Assist and support Accounting Manager with preparation of reporting to Group and local statutory requirements as needed. 3. Assistant and support Finance Manager to liaise with internal and external audit teams, prepare documents, answer questions and solve issues raised by auditors. 4. Support for ERP system’s control enhancement and improvement - Assess and process changes to the processes, procedures and systems to achieve high level of efficiency and effectiveness. - Work closely with IT & relevant parties to resolve payment related issues and ensure payment timeliness. 5. Provide various administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the business. 6. Any other ad-hoc duties or new job responsibilities as assigned to maximise the efficiency of the Accounting team and assigned by Accounting manager.
