Candidates must possess a minimum of 1 years in professional game or VR/AR development as a Technical Artist or similar development position. Ideally should present an online portfolio or code samples for consideration.
Core Responsibilities
• Act as liaison between Art, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Support Design team by providing technical assistance, asset creation, and optimization.
• Make engaging interactive prototypes to impart design concepts to team members, product groups, and executives.
• Track and manage content and systems for memory and performance across multiple projects.
Required Skills
• 1-3 years' experience in PC (or console game) and performant mobile applications for VR development.
• 50%-50% tech-to-art ratio: Strong foundation in technical art with a solid set of general artistic skills.
• Excellent problem solver, adept communicator and coordinator between technical and creative teams.
• Coding and script authoring for various tools: C# and JavaScript.
• Experience crafting applications for mobile devices and Java/Android experience.
• Proficient with at least one major 3D package like 3DS Max.
• Low level hardware experience.
• Thoughtful yet unrelenting at optimizing 3D scenes and materials for VR performance requirements.
• Excellent working knowledge of both Unity and Unreal Engine 4.
• Solid working knowledge of Source Engine and Hammer for SteamVR.
• Proficiency with 3DMax
• Excellent PBR Material shader and lighting skills (Knowledge of Substance Designer and Painter a plus).
• Proactive, self-directed starter, detail-oriented and efficient, high self-motivation.
