The job scope of a Shipbroker is to act as specialist intermediaries/negotiators between ship owners and charterers to arrange ocean transport of goods and commodities by sea, the employment of a vessel or to buy/sell ships on behalf of his client. Main responsibilities include negotiating deals, marketing tonnages to clients, maintaining contacts/positions..
Requirements:
- Minimum diploma in Shipping/Maritime or other related fields
- Excellent English proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
- Numerically literacy important
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent teamwork, able to work effectively across overseas team/departments.
- Highly motivated and driven
- Ability to work under pressure
- Preferably with 1 year or more relevant experience
