PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Support plants with maintenance according to the Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Integrity and Best Practice programs. This could range from routine maintenance, major planned overhaul as well as unplanned emergency plant shutdown. The Engineers are to be competently plan and develop requirements, methods, manpower requirements for scheduled maintenance inspections or corrective repairs. Decisions must consider customer or plants requirements, safety, cost, timely and reliability. The Engineers are to respond to any major occurrence of mechanical breakdown, carry out prompt inspection, analyse the fault, repair and re-commission affected plant and equipment so as to assure the minimum loss of production. Prepare technical reports to maintain accurate documentations for issues, work progress, technical resolution, ARCA. Clear and effective communication to provide necessary information to other supporting functions to carry out their support responsibilities efficiently. Conduct CoNC root cause investigation and follow up action plans completion. In all circumstances, be able to recognize complexity of work and conduct and review specific JSA for major tasks. Work with OTS functional on equipment audit, identify and lead Productivity projects to meet Maintenance target Proactively demonstrating Safety leadership to his peers. When supervising contractors and/or Air Products staff, ensure that the work is adequately planned and executed safely at a high level of effectiveness. Carry out plant modifications according to design specification, submit any self generated design changes to specialist engineers for approval before implementation. For some projects generate scope, cost and obtain Expenditure Approval and execute the work scope. Give advice and assistance to Plant Managers and their staff on maintenance matters as requested, drawing when necessary upon the technical resources and expertise of specialist engineers. In association with the Maintenance Systems group, review and update the technical content of the preventive maintenance procedures and to recommend changes where improvements in safety, quality, reliability or economy may be effected. Provide as required, training to Air Products, joint venture, and third party personnel in maintenance practices. Be proactively fulfilling administrative requirement on schedule for Time Entry, trip claims, and appraisal The Senior Maintenance Engineer has broader responsibilities in these areas requiring expanded technical skills normally gained through formal training, independent study and experience. Some of the works are self-generated for example productivity projects. In addition, the Engineer has greater organizational skills and communication skills to co-ordinate, motivate, train, monitor and impact the quality of performance of his team. The Engineers will make engineering decisions within their technical capability associated with their particular assignment. The Engineers shall act as an adviser to other engineers to resolve problems and display skills enabling the others to troubleshooting and resolve problems with minimum of engineering input. The Engineers shall be accountable for the training and development of new hires to a stage where the new hires are fully operational.
