Studio Engineer (MCAD Architect) | NB/Tablet Devices & Accessory
Overview:
Prototyping design lab, a multi-product, multi-disciplinary Design team in Microsoft Taiwan, has an opening for an experienced, motivated and innovative Studio Engineer.
At prototyping design lab we work on a broad variety of Microsoft products for markets around the world. As a Studio Engineer, you will play a critical role in the product making process for Microsoft search, assistant, intelligence and related experiences that are integrated across the Microsoft Office portfolio.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strengths in all stages of product development and be able to drive from definition to ideation to delivery working with local and global partners in design, product management and Mechanical Engineering (ME). He/She should have outstanding skills in designing interaction, visuals for software and ME for Laptop (NB)/Tablet Devices & Accessory.
Responsibilities:
1. Design strategy:
Drive design strategy and guidelines to guide design work for new features based on a deep understanding of user needs, business goals and technical limitations.
2. Interaction design:
Produce design briefs, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, interaction flows, low-fi prototypes and other artifacts required to develop and evolve user experience designs.
3. Champion design solutions:
Aligning with business & user objectives. Deliver exceptional interaction, ID and Mechanical designs—from initial concept to final implementation.
4. Solve complex design problems:
In simple & intuitive ways, blending brand personality, visual elements, mechanical, motion, and functions to create delightful experiences.
5. Communication:
Effectively communicate design strategies, concepts and solutions, technical practicalities in a way that is related to peers, partners and stakeholders throughout the organization, and in multiple locations, i.e. U.S., India, Taiwan, China, etc.
6. User-centered Iteration:
Apply unique knowledge and expertise to a broader context across design disciplines and Mechanical Engineering theories at a program level, including Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, and Customer Insights.
7. Global alignment:
Work closely with design counterparts in global teams to align the design strategies and execution consistency.
8. Agile method practice:
Practice a highly efficient, iterative design process with light documentation.
