AI R&D UX Designer (Computer Vison/Visual Document Intelligence)
As part of the Azure AI Platform, you would be part of developing AI technologies that will revolutionize how people interact with each other and their environments. The Cognitive Services Team provides a comprehensive family of AI services and cognitive APIs to help developers build intelligent apps. Our goal is to bring AI within reach of every developer—without requiring machine-learning expertise—so they can embed the ability to see, hear, speak, understand, and accelerate decision-making into their experiences. To bring this vision to fruition, we need an experienced UX Designer to design world-class AI services for our Azure Form Recognizer service.
You will be part of the Cognitive Services design team, delivering design and innovation across one or more facets of the design process, including sketching, prototyping, storyboarding, information architecture, interaction design, and usability. Primary responsibility will be to design UX feature capabilities for Azure Form Recognizer. You will partner with product PM and engineering teams to research, design, and implement these capabilities. You will also work in an iterative manner, scoping, and prioritizing work across multiple projects. And most importantly, you will be an advocate for the user and champion industry-leading, accessible, inclusive, and user-centered design practices.
Success for this role will be measured by your ability to design and launch services and tools that improve key metrics within Microsoft’s AI developer ecosystem.

Responsibilities
• Partner with PM, devs and user researchers to plan, develop and execute UX for AI platform services and tools
• Create highly polished design prototypes, mockups, and other communication artifacts
• Quickly turn around rigorous wireframes and mockups in a fast-paced, iterative environment
• Assist with development of user research planning and facilitate user interviews and prototype usability testing
• Present UX concepts and prototypes to leadership, key stakeholders, and partner teams
• Partner with design manager to establish career goals, project-based objectives, and prioritization of workloads
• Work independently to manage time, meet deadlines, and maintain UX quality standards
• Contribute to an inclusive, invigorating, and positive work environment and culture
Qualifications
• Design, HCI degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years’ industry experience in UX design, interactive design, and/or information architecture
• Experience with applying customer feedback, user research, and telemetry to the design process
• Systems thinker: Ability to take a broad, holistic view to product and experience design
• Fluent in Mandarin and English languages
• Ability to demonstrate effective storytelling and communication skills
• High proficiency with Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Understanding of artificial intelligence techniques and concepts preferred
• Experience/education in HCI/D best practices and UX development and implementation preferred
• Familiarity with C#, JSON or Python programing languages a plus
• A portfolio review presentation is required to interview for this role. Your presentation should communicate your work experience and demonstrate your design and communication skills.
