This Technical Applications for Fabworx will primarily be responsible for the support of the Taiwan semiconductor fabs. In this role, this person will be responsible for technical & sales aspects of growing Fabworx business in the Asia. This includes installing purchased equipment, managing equipment evaluations, creating and managing regional equipment rebuild service capability, and defining potential new products and sales/marketing. Position Objectives • Become the primary technical contact person for Fabworx in Taiwan. • Establish a strong, embedded technical relationship with TSMC and UMC. • Provide presales technical support to the sales team and the customer. • Lead product improvement and CIP efforts for both new and existing products. • Collaborate with R&D and sales to effectively move new products to initial customer acceptance, and then widely sellable to the rest of the world. • Identify new product opportunities based on customer needs and existing tool shortcomings. Guide these items through the development process, and on through to commercial success. • Provide outstanding technical support for the Fabworx products in the region and, on occasion and as needed, other places in the world. Primary Responsibilities/Expectations • Support the Fabworx product line, including upgraded components for AMAT Endura Mainframes. This includes installation, troubleshooting, calibration, and general customer support. • Develop key customer relationships at the technical level. • Become the technical communications bridge between Taiwan and Fabworx Austin. • Working with local sales people, provide technical presentations to prospective customers. • Install Fabworx products at regional customers. • With the support of engineering and manufacturing, resolve field product performance issues that may arise in Fabworx products. • Establish localized refurbishment activities. • Train future Fabworx field service technicians on installation, preventative maintenance, and repair of Fabworx and AMAT products. • Identify unmet customer needs leading to good future product ideas. Collect the needed data to define the product, both technically as well as its market opportunity. • With the support of the engineering department, guide these new products through their development process and on to initial commercial success. • Be responsible for regional Beta testing and product evaluations with regard to customer acceptance, data collection, and feedback for product fine-tuning. Drive evaluations to successful completion. • Help in the creation of associated technical documentation (installation manual, customer data, technical marketing presentations, etc) • By working closely with customers, collect product performance data that is useful for supporting other sales efforts, product improvement efforts and general marketing requirements. • Occasionally travel to Austin as needed to support the regional customers, for further personal training, and to support new product development. • Occasionally travel to other regions worldwide as needed to support various other Fabworx activities.
