Responsibilities
• Responsible for overall PCB process development and readiness within the supply chain
• Drive Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) activities with vendors and provide technical support in enhancing process capability and solving technical issues
• Identify equipment, fixture, and tooling needs and drive implementation efforts to qualify and optimize the manufacturing process
• Establish quality and process control plans at vendors for early detection of issues and to ensure the highest level of quality and reliability is consistently delivered
• Responsible for conducting Design/Process FMEA, Failure analysis, PPAP, and Statistical Process Control
• Knowledgeable in conducting DOEs, Line qualification, Machine Buy-off, Cycle Time & UPH studies, and Automation
• The SQE will work closely with the engineering team to understand product design intent and then be a major part of supplier identification and selection
• Develop and institutionalize our vendor and supplier selection process
• Evaluate prospective vendors for process capability based on project needs
• Publish concise reports on module yield performance, specification convergence status; drive Failure analysis, Corrective Action implementation plan, and yield bridge to mass production
• Responsible for supplier quality management with a focus on assessing supplier production and quality controls, evaluating supplier readiness, and adherence to module quality plan
• Partner with Engineering to define product acceptance plans based on PRD
• Collaborate with Suppliers and Engineering teams in assessing, proposing, and developing process technologies based on project requirements
Requirements
• PCB experience with mSAP, HDI / Laser Microvia, Blind / Buried Via, Via-In-Pad, and commonly used Surface Finish in the industry
• Strong knowledge of the PCB manufacturing processes with an understanding of equipment, chemistries, and methodologies commonly used in the industry
• 8+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering in consumer electronics with relevant work experience; some process engineering experience is preferred
• Hands-on experience with PCB electrical performance and reliability testing
• BS degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering is required
• Experience developing process & quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving corrective actions/failure analysis efforts for PCB
• Experience with quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, GR&R, DoE, metrology, GD&T, and Correlation studies
• Experience with doing data analysis using Excel, Minitab, or JMP
• Experience in developing and qualifying tooling, jigs, and fixtures
• Good at identifying risk and developing solid plans to mitigate
• Good communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
• Familiar with FPC and Rigid flex module manufacturing process and quality control
• Project management experience and proven track record of creative problem-solving in an unambiguous environment
• Have Ownership/Leadership mindset with an ability to be in a leadership position and achieve results with minimal supervision
