Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to lead research initiatives. The candidate will manage complex projects, focusing on designing, executing, and directing research to develop new therapeutics. Leveraging our expertise in immunology and protein engineering, this role demands scientific autonomy, strategic thinking, and leadership from conception to publication and potential translation. Ideal for someone ready to enhance their scientific independence and significantly contribute to our research portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the conceptualization, design, development, and execution of complex research projects in immunology including cancer and inflammation. Experience in protein engineering, and/or synthetic biology is a plus.
• Independently manage project timelines, resources, and milestones, ensuring rigorous execution and timely progress.
• Provide scientific leadership and strategic input for ongoing and future research directions within the lab.
• Oversee and perform sophisticated experimental work, including complex immune cell assays, molecular biology, and potentially in vivo studies. Experience in advanced protein engineering (e.g., directed evolution, multi-specific formats) is a plus.
• Analyze complex datasets, interpret findings critically, troubleshoot challenging technical problems, and make strategic decisions on project direction.
• Mentor and potentially supervise a team of researchers .
• Contribute to grant writing and funding applications.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative research environment.
• Maintain expert knowledge of the relevant scientific literature and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant postdoctoral or industry research experience demonstrating significant scientific productivity and increasing independence.
• Proven track record of independently leading research projects or significant work packages from conception to successful completion.
• Extensive hands-on expertise and deep theoretical understanding in molecular biology and mammalian cell culture. Protein engineering is a plus.
• Demonstrated proficiency in complex cell-based assays relevant to immunology or cancer/inflammation biology (e.g., PBMC isolation and maintenance, immune cell activation, cytokine profiling, cytotoxicity, flow cytometry, ADCC and TDCC assays).
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong leadership potential or demonstrated experience in mentoring/supervising others and works well in a cross-functional setting.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
• Strong publication record, including first-author publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior drug development experience and has led multiple novel biologics from discovery stage through IND enabling studies.
• Deep knowledge and extensive experience in cancer immunotherapy or inflammatory diseases, particularly immune cell engagers and T cell/NK cell biology.
• Significant experience with in vivo cancer and/or inflammation models. Hand-on experience is a plus.
• Experience contributing to or securing research funding (grants, fellowships).
• Familiarity with structural biology or computational approaches relevant to protein engineering.
