The Project Manager Assistant assists the PM for coordinating Product Development projects. This role is an opportunity to manage a wide variety of tasks since GD develops a wide range of consumer electronics accessory products. Our team in Taipei is relatively small and operates independently from our sister Company headquarters in Canada, so there will be a high degree of freedom to propose your own new ideas and bring them to life yourself after receiving management approval. The primary objective of the Project Manager Assistant is to follow up the current project and assist PM to coordinate product development projects and ensure on-time and on-budget performance. This includes communication between suppliers and our internal design and management teams, planning and communicating project plans, and monitoring and sharing progress with management. The secondary objective of this position is to follow up the plan and ensuring proper time and resource allocation will avoid potential delays and cost overruns. Duties • Ensuring the execution of every project on-time and on-budget. This requires coordinating with vendors and other internal departments, developing and communicating a plan, and budgeting of both cost and time. • Getting the best out of suppliers and co-workers to benefit the projects that you oversee. • Creating a strong project plan and utilizing communication and reporting tools to share it with our team and production partners. Responsibilities • Assist PM to negotiate with vendors to obtain optimal product costs and delivery timelines. • Ensure resource availability and allocation and assist PM to build and publish a unique cost and time plan for each product development project • Identify important project milestones, manage their completion, track overall project progress and share with team members regularly. • Monitor and manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs. • Measure and report project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques. • Report and escalate to the management team in English as needed • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including project requirements, product specs, samples, and quotations. Job Summary We are looking for an analytical and proactive Purchasing & Inventory Specialist to join our growing team in our Taipei office. This role is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels—balancing the need to meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock. You will be tasked with planning and placing purchase orders, identifying and addressing overstock situations early, and collaborating closely with our sales and marketing teams to resolve aged or excess inventory. While logistics handles shipments, you’ll coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and support urgent sales needs when necessary. You will report directly to the Asia Operations Manager and be empowered to take ownership over inventory efficiency and purchasing strategy within the business. Duties • Plan and issue purchase orders to ensure inventory availability while avoiding overstock. • Monitor inbound shipments and proactively manage delays or expediting opportunities. • Identify aged or slow-moving inventory and collaborate with sales and marketing to implement clearance or promotional strategies. • Track and report on key inventory KPIs including inventory turns, out-of-stock lost sales, and freight costs. • Analyze demand trends and forecast future inventory requirements in alignment with sales growth. • Manage the product setup process in our ERP system by coordinating and gathering applicable information from team members. • Build strong relationships with suppliers and logistics providers to optimize lead times and freight options.
