The Role Taiwan engineering is a dedicated engineering org for Coupang core business in Taiwan. Coupang started the business in Taiwan from 2022 and the business is growing fast, and we see many opportunities there. The team has end-to-end ownership of Taiwan systems, and we are working with Taiwan business stakeholders, product team very closely to wow the customers and scale the business. We will record another history of Coupang in Taiwan. Responsibilities - Major contributor in the team to develop features and enable systems in Taiwan - Develop close relationships with Product and Korea tech team - Solve the bottlenecks constraining Taiwan business growth - Migrate South Korea systems to Taiwan and globalize the stack - Develop Taiwan localized features on top of South Korea systems - Establish operation and engineering excellence practices - Build the domain knowledge and own TW systems. Be the go-to person in the domain - Work on multi-domain projects based on business priority Basic Requirements - Bachelor/Master/PhD in Computer Science or Engineering, or related field - 8+ years of industry experience of increasing responsibility leading engineering teams - 5+ years of experience in software development in large distributed systems, web services and Java - Growth mindset, company-wide perspective. Focus on business problem solving. - Strong competency in delivering results in an environment of rapidly changing requirements with appropriate trade-offs - Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Experience working closely with global distributed teams Preferred - Prior experience in eCommerce - Experience working in tier-0 systems, distributed systems
