Primary Responsibilities: 1. Lead and manage an engineering functional group responsible for product design, development, modification, and evaluation. 2. Oversee areas including mechanical systems, electronic components and subassemblies, IC design, instrumentation, systems development, and packaging. 3. Evaluate project and product outcomes to ensure technical objectives are met. 4. Direct technical design efforts, initiate patent processes, and recommend optimal manufacturing methods. 5. Ensure proper documentation and collaborate with marketing, sales, manufacturing, field service, and other departments to support product success. 6. Select, develop, and assess personnel within the engineering function. 7. Engage directly with customers to understand technical requirements and communicate how product capabilities meet those needs. Senior Manager Level Scope: 1. Manage a business unit, function, or discipline within a multifaceted organization. 2. Develop and implement tactical and operational goals aligned with the strategic plan of the broader organization. 3. Delegate objectives to subordinate managers/supervisors and regularly measure performance. 4. Possess comprehensive technical knowledge and strong management skills to lead large or complex teams. 5. Contribute to strategic planning and goal-setting at the organizational level. 6. Solve multifaceted problems with innovative thinking and sound judgment. 7. Make decisions with significant autonomy, evaluating cost, risk, and benefit trade-offs. 8. Lead the organization to achieve financial, product/service, and human resources goals. 9. Understand that failure to meet objectives or poor decision-making can negatively impact the broader organization and require substantial resources to correct.
