We are seeking a talented Electrical & Software Engineer to join our team in Taipei, integrating the electrical and software core of our automated material synthesis platform. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives at the intersection of hardware control, embedded systems, and advanced software development. * Key Responsibilities 1. Automation Design: Design, develop, and deploy automated systems for material synthesis and handling. 2. Hardware Control: Integrate and control various electrical and optical components (e.g., lasers, cameras) and sensors. 3. Firmware & Embedded Systems: Write, test, and debug firmware for microcontrollers and other embedded platforms. 4. Software Development: Develop strong Python and C++ software for automation scripting, data acquisition, analysis, and instrument interfacing. 5. PCB Engineering: Engage in PCB design (schematic, layout, and testing) using tools like Altium Designer or KiCad. 6. Troubleshooting: Debug and ensure the optimal performance and reliability of all automated systems and hardware. 7. Documentation: Create clear technical documentation for all developed systems and firmware. * Required Skills and Experience 1. Proven experience in designing and deploying automation systems. 2. Strong proficiency in Python and C++ for automation and instrument interfacing. 3. Experience in integrating and controlling electrical and optical instruments/sensors. 4. Experience in PCB design and hands-on testing. 5. Experience writing, testing, and debugging firmware for microcontrollers/embedded platforms. 6. Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills. 7. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. * Preferred Skills (A Plus!) 1. Hands-on experience with specific instruments (e.g., spectrometers, cameras). 2. Familiarity with embedded communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet). 3. Experience with automation tools like LabVIEW or PLC programming. 4. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for data logging. 5.
