Authorized and responsible to perform all duties in accordance with BDEL Quality, Safety and Employee Policies and procedures: • Due to their proximity to key vendors, may support critical projects by supporting vendors, ensuring instructions and deliverables are clear, and articulating challenges and delays back to the design team. • Responsible for providing consultation, insight, and supporting data for constructions, materials, and factory capabilities related to a proposed design concept. • Responsible for coordinating finished product development, and manufacturing integration from design into bulk production. This may include oversight of all sales samples production to ensure alignment with Black Diamond’s documentation relating to the applicable products. • Authorized and responsible to provide development timeline status and task assignments through various project management delivery systems (ERP system, design team meetings, etc) • Responsible for the creation, proper and timely maintenance of all required development documentation as specified by the Dir of Product Development or relevant manager. • Consistently seeks out new technologies, bring them to the BD Design teams for future projects. This may require attending local trade shows, new vendors, or pushing existing vendors to adopt novel manufacturing methods that provide a competitive advantage to BD and its customers. • Strategic Supplier/Vendor Management - Working in close alignment with the Product side of the business and Supply Chain, the Product Development Engineer will actively participate in discovering, qualifying and managing relationships with Black Diamond’s strategic vendor base. These responsibilities include: o Understanding the sorts of vendor capabilities that are needed to bring to market innovative BD designs in the lowest cost manner possible o Managing this vendor base to assure adherence to all requirements established in BD’s Vendor Guide o Aligning vendor capacities with customer demand o Seeking to expand the vendor base to support demand growth o Establishing seasonal costing parameters and negotiating costing for in-line product o Conducting semi-annual vendor reviews

Day to Day Responsibilities: • Leading a large technical team through projects, to develop and deploy state of the art process controls technologies including hardware and software engineering capabilities in support of early stage, pilot and high-volume manufacturing activities for new technology transfer, process improvement, cost reduction or capacity expansion. • Actively develop and partnership with technical leaders in developing PCS strategy to support execution of corporate priorities and all Corning business operations and growth across Asia. • Advance and maintain technical competencies in PCS by actively participating and leading control system architecture, hardware and software designs for process equipment, process/product prototyping, and factory automation. • Initiate and lead control solution projects as appropriate to support competency and capability development to advance operational competitive advantage and build pipeline of engineering talents. • Act as a leader to represent MTE organization in engagements with customers (mainly internal engineering and manufacturing teams) and vendors (technical engagement, capability evaluations, etc.) across Asia. Visit work sites of direct reports and engage key customers on employee performance and contributions in meeting project objectives and expectations. Provide help as appropriate. • Champion effective deployment of documented manufacturing control systems best practices on all department projects. • Be responsible for establishing trainings and development programs/processes to enhance team’s competencies, capabilities and skills in core technologies through project assignments, trainings, coaching, seminars and conferences.
