NZXT is seeking a highly motivated Thermal Engineer to help develop best in class, innovative cooling solutions for Desktop, mobile and wearable systems. The role involves architecture, design, analysis, prototyping and validation of cooling solutions. The position requires working closely with cross-functional teams as well as external suppliers. We need a creative thinker who can solve complex and challenging problems both independently as well as within a team environment. This position involves working in a dynamic and fast-pace environment with tight timing and dynamic constraints.
【Responsibilities】
• Responsible for Desktop and peripheral products thermal design
• Design air/air and liquid/air cooling solution for consumer electronics
• Define thermal policy and control algorithms and characterize system response
• Develop analytical models of conductive and convective thermal systems
• Drive component selection (Heat Exchanger, Fan, Pump, TIM etc…)
• Optimize cooling solutions for all aspects of their performance and reliability
• Develop validation test plans for thermal components to determine if they meet design requirements
• Conduct tests, post-processing data, and communicating results to stakeholders
• Review and maintain DFMEA, and test standards for the thermal system
• Drive development programs with both internal and external engineering teams
• Optimize design for cost and system-level reliability
1. Strong knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and
computational fluid dynamics simulations.
2. Experience with liquid cooled and air-cooled design.
3. Validate and test the cooling system, and establish a database for subsequent
system use.
4. Develop thermal systems with associated structures, mechanisms, and
instrumentation elements to solve customer challenges, and see these elements
through build, test, integration, and operation.
5. Perform trades within the mechanical and thermal systems to provide
performance and system resource balance.
6. Design cooling system for battery system to ensure battery is developed with
appropriate requirements, interfaces, and interactions to achieve specific
performance targets.
【JOB SUMMARY】
NZXT is seeking a Fan Development Engineer who can take ownership of the product roadmap architecture, leading the fan design, review, and validation of PC case and cooler related products. The ideal candidate will not only lead ODM design teams but also be hands-on, with 5+ years of fan design experience. This individual will collaborate across departments, assisting product managers and program managers in product specification, design, development and production.
【RESPONSIBILITY】
● Own and direct fan development architecture
● Partner with Product management to define fan roadmap
● Optimization of performance and noise design for the fan.
● Research, analyze and recommend new fan design approaches
● Plan project, manage the schedule and work to meet TTM (Time to market), reduce cost and improve product quality
● Collaborate with system or lab validation testing engineers to discover and resolve any design, signal integrity, or quality related issues
● Create and review technical documentation including product specifications, test procedures, etc
● Evaluate and debug design prototypes on the bench and generate detailed engineering reports of findings and recommendations
● Work in close coordination with ID, ME, FW and PM cross-functional team
● Working closely with ODM fan suppliers.
● Understand the product manufacturing process and customer complaints, improve and enhance product design quality.
● Stay updated on industry trends to plan and develop new products in the early stages.
【QUALIFICATIONS】
● BSME/MSME with 5+ years of direct experience with system fan & DC fan design with a minimum of 3 years in the consumer electronics industry.
● Familiar with motor and rotational mechanism design.
● Proficient in fluid dynamics and flow simulation tools.
● Knowledgeable about fan operation principles.
● Capable of independently completing projects.
● Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese
【SKILLS】
● Proficient in CFD simulation software.
● Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (Creo and SolidWorks preferred).
● Ability to lead internal and external team members to implement the design vision in a fast-paced work environment

Closely work with engineering, marketing and sales teams to review the product specification and design of mechanical, thermal, and system architecture to enable competitive.
Closely work with vendors on liquid cooled server product design and development, lead cross-functional team to ensure time-to-market product launch and on-time delivery.
II. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
• Design of Compute/Storage servers, racks from thermal perspective.
• Liquid Cooling design such as Liquid cold plates, liquid loops, integrated liquid systems, recirculating chillers, CDUs.
• Strong knowledge in Liquid Cooling, thermal management and verification.
• Perform thermal simulations using CFD tools like Macroflow, FloTherm or Icepack.
• Perform thermal validation and create test reports as per the customer requirement.
• Working knowledge of heat sink/fan and liquid cooling solution selection and optimization.
• Execute power and performance benchmark tests on new hardware. Determine refinements to standard tests to better meet customer needs.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams in support of overall company objective
• Work with domestic and international vendors to integrate third party components.
• Work directly with our top tier data center customers on understanding and implementing requirements.
