* Job Summary
We're looking for a highly motivated and skilled Chemist to join our team in Taipei, Taiwan. In this full-time role, you will be crucial in optimizing and scaling up chemical synthesis processes to produce high-quality Quantum Dots (QDs) with specific optical and electronic properties. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of advanced materials manufacturing, integrating AI-driven process optimization and automation technologies.
* Key Responsibilities
1. Optimize and scale up chemical synthesis processes for QDs, ensuring precise control over size, morphology, and optical/electronic properties.
2. Develop and implement AI-driven methodologies for reaction monitoring, data analysis, and overall process optimization.
3. Integrate automation technologies to significantly improve synthesis efficiency, reproducibility, and scalability.
4. Conduct thorough material characterization using techniques such as UV-Vis spectroscopy, Photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, TEM, and Powder X-ray Diffraction (XRD).
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate QDs into advanced device fabrication.
6. Troubleshoot synthesis and production issues to ensure consistent product quality and performance.
7. Required Skills and Experience
Education: Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or a related field (advanced degrees are a significant plus).
8. Synthesis Experience: Hands-on experience in wet-chemical synthesis methods or quantum dot synthesis, gained through academic research or industry projects.
9. Characterization Tools: Proficiency with material characterization tools, including UV-Vis spectroscopy, PL spectroscopy, TEM, and XRD.
10. Data Analysis: Ability to analyze experimental data and utilize AI-assisted tools for process optimization.
11. Core Competencies: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
12. Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Preferred Skills and Experience
1. Experience in surface ligand exchange, passivation, or functionalization of quantum dots.
2. Background in scaling laboratory synthesis to pilot or industrial-scale production.
3. Familiarity with AI-driven process control, data analytics, or machine learning for materials research.
4. Experience in device integration processes for QD-based optoelectronic applications.
5. Hands-on experience with automated synthesis systems or robotics in chemical laboratories.
6. Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures in chemical laboratories.
