【Job Purpose/Overview】
The Associate Engineer – Packaging plays a key role in advancing Mars Wrigley's Growth,Quality, and Efficiency initiatives in support of our strategic IVCP. This role focuses on coordinating and executing packaging development activities, ensuring the seamless integration of new formats while optimising existing ones. The engineer is responsible for maintaining accurate packaging information across multiple business systems and providing technical support across the business to underpin Quality and Food Safety standards in our packaging processes.
【Key Responsibilities】
· Innovation and Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to develop innovative packaging formats and manage delivery using current formats for various business operations, including primary packs and display solutions.
· Efficiency and Sustainability: Support packaging development activities that enhance efficiency, promote sustainability, reduce waste, and refine process capabilities.
· Project Management: Regularly engage with the packaging team to prioritize projects and resolve issues effectively.
· Data Management: Create and maintain accurate packaging material information across systems such as Workflow, Veritas, SAP, and SOPs.
· Standards Implementation: Assist in the implementation of Q&FS standards related to packaging processes.

Associate Engineers work extensively with stakeholders across various functions, including R&D, Marketing, Supply, and Sales to ensure packaging solutions align with broader business strategies, driving consumer desirability, maintaining high efficiency and quality standards, and ensuring adherence to compliance requirements. The role requires proactive engagement, problem-solving, and innovative thinking to advance our packaging materials and processes.
【Job Specifications/Qualifications】
· Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Design, or equivalent degree preferred. Certificate in Packaging at a minimum.
· 3 - 4 years packaging development experience in a Food Manufacturing environment working in Quality, Food Safety, Engineering, or Packaging/Process Development
· Working knowledge of food processing or packaging technology is highly preferred
· Strong project management capability with the ability to motivate and direct a technical team of peers
· Experience working in cross functional project teams and multi-disciplinary R&D teams
· Cross functional experience in supply or demand facing roles would be beneficial
