The Role We’re looking for an Embedded Software Engineer who’s ready to take complete ownership of the low-level systems powering our autonomous vessels. At Hyarks, we’re not just building boats—we’re redefining offshore and maritime operations with cutting-edge robotics. Our platforms, the H1 and TF100, are designed for specialized maritime missions, and we need someone who will build their embedded systems from the ground up. If you thrive on solving tough hardware/software challenges, integrating sensors and actuators, and optimizing performance in real-world conditions, this is your chance to make a direct and lasting impact. This isn’t a role for those who just want to write code—it’s for engineers who want to own the entire embedded stack, from firmware and drivers to real-time control and sensor data pipelines. You will work with IMUs, GPS, cameras, LiDAR, sonar, and multiple actuator types, ensuring robust performance across diverse operating conditions. Power management, reliability, and precision will be your domain. We operate in a fast-moving startup environment, meaning you’ll have both the autonomy and responsibility to shape the core technology that makes our vessels truly autonomous. If you’ve got a strong C/C++ background, real-time operating system (RTOS) experience, and microcontroller expertise, you’ll feel right at home. Familiarity with ROS or drone development will give you an edge—much of the innovation in autonomous flight translates directly to our work at sea. Key Skills We value problem-solvers who combine technical depth with hands-on execution. The ideal candidate will be proactive, resourceful, and relentless in pursuing excellence. Essential skills: Strong C/C++ programming skills. Experience with RTOS development. Microcontroller firmware development. Hardware/software integration. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for embedded systems. Nice to have: Familiarity with ROS. Experience in drone or robotics development. Knowledge of maritime systems and sensors. Requirements The following are essential: Proven experience in embedded software development for real-time systems. Hands-on experience integrating sensors and actuators. The Role We’re looking for a Controls Engineer to design, implement, and tune the control algorithms that will give our autonomous vessels world-class precision and stability. At Hyarks, we’re building the H1 and TF100—platforms that will redefine offshore and maritime operations—and we need someone ready to own the systems that make them truly autonomous. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the full control architecture—from dynamic vessel modeling to advanced guidance and stability systems. You’ll design and optimize PID controllers, experiment with Model Predictive Control (MPC), and develop algorithms that can handle the unpredictable nature of real sea states. Your work will directly power our dynamic positioning, autonomous navigation, and path-planning capabilities. This is a startup environment, so you’ll have both the freedom and the responsibility to make high-impact technical decisions. You’ll be working closely with other engineering disciplines, but control systems will be your domain—you’ll be the one ensuring our vessels stay on course no matter the conditions. Key Skills We value engineers who blend theoretical rigor with practical execution. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, analytical, and driven to innovate in the maritime robotics space. At Hyarks, we’re creating the H1 and TF100—cutting-edge platforms for offshore and maritime operations—and you’ll be the one ensuring they stay online, streaming data, and operating seamlessly from anywhere on the planet. In this role, you’ll own the entire communications and infrastructure stack—from vessel-to-shore pipelines and real-time data streaming to scalable cloud architectures and video streaming platforms. You’ll work with containerized environments, edge computing deployments, and API development for fleet management. Your mission: create resilient, low-latency communication channels that allow remote control, monitoring, and multi-vessel coordination—whether via LTE, 5G, or satellite links. This is a hands-on role in a startup environment, giving you autonomy to architect, implement, and optimize systems end-to-end. Your work will enable mission-critical operations at sea and ensure our vessels are as connected as they are capable. Key Skills We’re looking for engineers who combine infrastructure expertise with real-world communication problem-solving. Essential skills: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration. REST/GraphQL API design and implementation. WebRTC for real-time video streaming. Time-series databases (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB). Message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ). Network programming and troubleshooting. Highly advantageous: Experience with Zenoh middleware. LTE/5G and maritime SATCOM connectivity. Knowledge of IoT device management platforms.
