The Quality Engineer Manager develops and implements quality plans, metrics, programs, and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and analyses. Ensures that performance and product quality from Brooks Manufacturing and Contract Manufacturers conforms to established company, customer and regulatory requirements. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly and process. Leads investigation of problems and develops dispositions, modifications, and corrective actions for recurring or non-recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with the global quality team, customers, manufacturing, and engineering departments to ensure requirements are met. Your primary responsibility will be supporting the local customers for quality issues reported, supporting NPI projects, and performing failure analysis.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Serves as the Quality lead and interface for products built at Brooks and at Contract Manufacturers. Supporting our major customers in Taiwan and managing these customers’ expectations in tracking and resolving reported quality complaints. Leads regular customer meetings and develop containment and recovery plans accordingly.
• Build a strong working relationship with our customers.
• Manages assigned product failure analysis work, report generation, and presents to customer/Brooks quality management.
• Be able to perform failure analysis on PCBA’s, with the support of engineering.
• Leads problem solving teams utilizing 8D methodology.
o Leads cross functional team Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities to drive performance improvements.
o Assists in the process for ensuring that corrective actions (CAPA) are completed in accordance with relevant ISO requirements (ISO 9001), Advance Problem Solving methods, and that documentation is complete and compliant with requirements.
• Conducts Data Analysis and prepares metrics detailing field product quality.
o Manages quality data for accuracy and report generation.
o Collects, treats and interprets data, and analyzes results using statistical techniques.
o Identifies, and analyzes and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets.
o Works with staff as necessary to enhance data capture and analysis in support of internal and external quality improvement and reporting efforts.
o Serves as a resource for aggregating, analyzing, and displaying statistically oriented data.
• Leads quality meetings with factory teams, quality, supplier quality, and manufacturing.
• Supports factory process certification activities for New Product Introductions (NPI) process.
• Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
• May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, research and development of our products at our contract manufactures.
• Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
• Bachelor's Degree in either Electrical (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering plus a minimum of 5 plus years of experience in a Quality Engineering role.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Experience in managing customers’ expectations within a fast-moving industry.
• Hands-on experience working on electronic (preferred) or electromechanical equipment.
• Experience using statistical methods and tools such as Gauge R&R, Statistical Process Control, Capability analyses, data mining etc.
• Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office products.
• Have excellent record keeping.
• Willingness and ability to travel Internationally.
• Ideally, will have some knowledge of the semiconductor manufacturing industry related to capital equipment. Prior copy exact experience would be a plus.
• Certification in Six Sigma, Project Management, or Lean is a plus.
