
Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead New Product Development (NPD) executed at our Southeast Asia (SEA) manufacturing partners and manage the Vietnam and Cambodia Manufacturing Engineering teams. This role requires collaboration with global Design, Quality, Testing, Product Management, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery. The goal is to build technical leadership within the team and drive project execution excellence. Key Responsibilities: a. Manage and develop the Vietnam and Cambodia manufacturing engineering teams, including goal setting, performance reviews, development plans, and personnel issue resolution. b. Oversee NPD project execution in SEA: resource planning, supplier engagement, DFM reviews, and problem-solving. c. Ensure all alloy and composite projects are engineered, documented, tooled, tested (lab & field), and ready for production to Specialized standards. d. Regularly communicate with global teams via video conferences and reporting to align on project progress and technical reviews. e. Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering Director on long-term growth strategies including team recruitment, training, new supplier audits, and continuous improvement. f. Lead internal improvement initiatives and support new technologies, cost reduction, and process optimization projects. g. Maintain engineering discipline and documentation using PLM systems and NPI process. h. Plan and manage the facility’s yearly budget (OPEX, CAPEX, consumables) and team compensation recommendations in coordination with the Director. Requirements: a. Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field. b. Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in composite or aluminum manufacturing. c. Minimum 1 year of engineering team management experience. d. Hands-on experience with: • Composite forming, molding, bonding, and machining • Aluminum forging, sheet metal stamping, CNC machining • Tube forming and bending • Welding, brazing, heat treatment of aluminum alloys e. Strong troubleshooting skills related to composite structure, shape, laminate design, and molding. f. Ability to interpret test data and propose corrective actions if parts fail to meet requirements. g. Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T. h. Familiarity with measuring instruments. i. Strong computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Pro/E, AutoCAD. j. Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken); Vietnamese and Chinese language abilities are a plus. k. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. l. Willingness to relocate to Vietnam full-time and travel regularly within Asia and occasionally to the USA.
