Overview:
Veeco's Taiwan is seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to manage EHS programs across our operations in Taiwan. This role requires leadership, hands-on experiences and independent execution to ensure compliance with corporate standards, customer requirements and Taiwan's regulations. The EHS Manager will promote a strong safety culture and work with the global EHS team to uphold Veeco’s safety standards in line with evolving industry regulations and customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, implement, and manage EHS policies and procedures in alignment with regulations, global and industry standards.
- Complete and maintain Process Hazard Analysis evaluations and Job Hazard Analysis
- Plan and conduct EHS audits, inspections and follow-up corrective actions.
Design and present employee training as needed on applicable regulations and EHS topics.
- Provide guidance and updates to Taiwan management and employees.
- Delivery of safety reporting and Key Performance Indicators
- Be the primary EHS contact for customer requests, audits, and documentation to ensure compliance with customer standards.
- Support customer operations by responding to safety inquiries and ensuring a safe working environment during service activities.
- Understand and support global EHS initiatives to ensure compliance with global process and procedures.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management or related and a minimum of 7 years of EHS experience in high-tech or semiconductor industry.
- Broad based knowledge of Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health regulations, especially solid understanding of Taiwan EHS regulations and practices.
Familiarity with SEMI and NFPA fire protection standards; EH&S regulations including but not limited to OSHA and EPA
- Experience with EH&S Program Implementation; Inspections practices; Incident Investigation; Hazard/Risk Assessments and EHS Training
- Familiar with Fire Protection and Security Systems; Incident Response and Command Activities; Environmental Controls; Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomic Evaluations
- Certification in Class-1 manager of Occupational Safety and Health Affairs and others (CSP, CIH) is a plus.
- Direct experiences working with key semiconductor customers such as TSMC, Micron, and similar customers is preferred.
- Ability to effectively and cooperatively interface with peers and colleagues.
- Good presentation skills, team interaction, project organizing, Influencing and communication skills. English communication capability is a must.
- Excellent MS Office skills and other related business software applications
- Must be able to travel to customer sites as required.
