1. Search for patent and prior use of related technology.
2. Analyze the differences between existing technology and patent claims.
3. Handle IPR applications with internal inventors and patent attorneys.
4. Maintain the effectiveness of IPRs.
5. Conduct and review license agreements.
6. Other administrative affairs instructed by supervisors.
The Role:
The Senior Patent Agent will be responsible for IP portfolio management. Applicants will closely collaborate with other patent professionals in the business including attorneys, agents, specialists, and work with inventors, and managers to define, qualify and support the business in obtaining and maintaining patents.
What You'll Do:
• Solicit disclosures of inventions and assist inventors in filing timely and accurate disclosures
• Determine patent application filing priorities
• Provide leadership to technical disclosure selection processes
• Prosecute patent applications and prepare other documents during all stages of the patent procurement process
• Draft patent applications or engage outside counsel for the preparation of patent applications
• Conduct patentability and landscape searching
• Analyze issued patents and support competitive awareness searches
• Protect Entegris’ intellectual property worldwide
• Assure Entegris realizes maximum return on Entegris’ intellectual property investment
What We Seek:
• At least 5 years of experience as a patent agent
• An advanced degree in material science, chemistry, chemical engineering or a related discipline, PhD preferred
• TIPO Registration required, USPTO registration a plus
• Outstanding writing and analytical skills are essential
• Prior work experience in a law firm or legal department and as a scientist strongly preferred
