Responsibilities:
Strategy:
• Provide input for global category strategies—short, medium, and long-term needs.
• Ensure key players understand Thales needs, supporting strategy for project and competitive advantage.
• Identify and deliver measurable savings targets, endorsed by business/project.
• Ensure well-reported category commitment and spend compliance tracking.
Procurement Competitiveness Capture:
• Continuously monitor category markets to identify key players, newcomers, economic shifts, market/regulation constraints, innovations, and technology. This aids in developing the most up-to-date category strategies for businesses.
• Derive insights on enhancing product/project competitiveness through the adoption of diverse suppliers, methodologies, and technology based on the aforementioned monitoring.
• Collaborate with Procurement Product, Bids, and Project Managers (PPM) and cross-functional teams. Support the preparation of Make/Buy decisions led by the PPM to optimize overall business performance.
Governance, Leadership and Performance Management:
• Ensure THALES governance is applied using KPI's and root cause corrective actions
Supplier / Acquisition Management:
• Perform supply base management aligning with Global Category Manager standards.
• Ensure fair supplier competitions following governance processes for improved business and customer performance.
• Negotiate supplier contracts and framework agreements aligned with category strategies, ensuring legal compliance and customer requirements. Adopt global contracts, utilize Thales e-Acquisition and procurement tools, and manage risks to optimize business performance, supporting the development of suppliers needing assistance.
Operational Support:
• Ensure the Tactical Buyers receive all required information to raise the Purchase Orders.
Requirements:
• Essential professional qualifications (CIPS, EIPM, ISM, MAI) are required.
• Desirable educational backgrounds include degrees in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Engineering, complemented by qualifications in Project Management.
• Advantageous experience involves managing display commodities (LCD, OLED), Security Systems, Access Control, or Power Products.
• A prerequisite is more than 5 years of procurement experience.
• Valued expertise includes interaction with senior management and stakeholders, particularly in complex projects, design, and product development.
• Preferred background incorporates experience in an international cross-functional matrix organization, especially in Bids, sub-contract management, and delivering complex solutions.
• Key skills include defining and influencing category strategy, ensuring strong operational implementation, and possessing contractual knowledge, especially in framework agreements, Liability, and insurance.
• Proficiency is required in leading complex negotiations, encompassing import/export considerations.
• A comprehensive understanding of the market and forces impacting the managed category, coupled with the ability to comprehend customer stakes, needs, and program issues, is essential.
• The role demands agility, adaptation to a complex environment, prioritization skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
