The Global Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that ensure competitive cost, quality, and supply continuity for critical components, materials, and services across the company’s global supply base. This role will partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance teams to drive supplier performance, reduce total cost of ownership, and mitigate supply chain risks—particularly in the context of the IoT and high-tech hardware sector.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
• Develop and implement global sourcing strategies aligned with business goals, product roadmaps, and cost-reduction targets.
• Identify, qualify, and negotiate with suppliers worldwide to ensure best-in-class pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
• Maintain a balanced and diversified supply base to reduce geopolitical and market risks.
2. Cost & Contract Negotiation
• Lead commercial negotiations to achieve optimal pricing, payment terms, and contractual agreements.
• Conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, factoring in logistics, tariffs, and lifecycle costs.
• Monitor commodity market trends and proactively adjust sourcing strategies.
• Work with R&D and Engineering to source new components and materials that meet technical specifications.
3. Performance Monitoring & Risk Management
• Establish supplier performance metrics (OTD, quality PPM, cost competitiveness, responsiveness).
• Drive corrective action plans with underperforming suppliers.
• Develop and execute risk mitigation plans for critical parts and services.
4. Compliance & Sustainability
• Ensure sourcing decisions align with ethical sourcing guidelines, sustainability goals, and regional regulations.
• Maintain compliance with corporate policies, trade laws, and export control requirements.
